Question: Help with profile customization?

Well... colours are really the only way to customize it aside from background images which can't be used unless you donate. :/ If you're undecided on which colours to use and don't want to pick randomly, I'd suggest going to a site like Color Jack or Color Palette Generator to choose a scheme and work from that. (With that second one you can upload an image and it'll pick colours from that, so you could match something to your profile image, etc.) That's all I can really suggest. :x
 
Also try to keep to a colour scheme where your profile is based around only 3 colours and get colours that match, not having a dark font colour on a dark background for example.
Images can make the profile look that much better even if your going for a simple style.
