3rd Gen Help with range of Pokemon.

In FireRed and LeafGreen, what Generation Pokemon are there? As in, is it all just 1st Gen Pokemon, and some 3rd, or just 1st? I'm really confused, and other forums haven't helped me answer this question very well.

There is of course, 1st generation. Once you venture into the 7 islands, Pokemon from the 2nd generation begin to apper. I'm not quite sure if Pokemon from the 3rd generation appear. I think.. :P

Thanks for the help, I probably won't be able to get to the islands anyway seems as I'm rubbish at basically all video games. I also like 2nd gen anyway.

There's a mixture of Pokemon from 1st gen to 3rd gen. It's kinda all mixed together though, with some being rarer than others as you would expect.
Until you get the National Dex though, you'll be restricted to only 1st gen Pokemon.

Yeah, all of the first gen is here. About half of the second generation is in the game while the other half are either exclusively found in Emerald or in Ruby and Sapphire. You can get a couple of 3rd generation pokemon in your Fire Red and Leaf Green without trading with Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald. They are Wyanut and Azurill. You just need the right items in order to get these two Pokemon.
