I want to edit the overworld sprite and trainer sprite for the player character in Pokemon Sapphire but there are too many programs around that I cannot seem to get working with anything and I really just want to know where to start. Like a guide for this very specific purpose, as most arent super in-depth for me or are only for Emerald or FireRed. I will also be fine with doing it in Ruby if Sapphire is not an option.

Hex Maniac Advance is one of the only tools you need for binary hacking nowadays. You can basically

It has an inbuilt edior for this sort of thing.

don't use RS, use emerald, it has the most research and developments by far and I'm not even certain if HMA (a must use for binary hacking) has support for RS (if it does it will NOT be as good as Emerald)
