Help?

Hello all, I recently got back into Pokemon, and I have my team played out, I just need help figuring out what to do with them. So far I have as followed.

Umbreon: For the Sp Def ev's, not sure where to put the others. I also plan on using Double Team to make him more harder to hit. For moves, I plan on using Double Team [Like I've said previously.], Confuse Ray, Faint Attack, and the last one I am not sure of.

Electivire: EVs will go to Attack, then HP. Moves, I plan to use, Discharge, Thunder, Thunderpunch and Shock wave.

Haunter Or Gengar: Evs will go to Sp Att. and Speed. Moves: Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Nightmare and Destiny Bond.

Cloyster: Ev's to Def. and Hp. Moves: Iron Defense, Ice Beam, Aurora Beam, and Supersonic

Absol: Ev's Attack and Hp. Moves: Future Sight, Me First, Psycho Cut, and Perish Song.

Arcanine: Ev's Hp and Attack, Moves: Extremespeed, Reversal, Fire Fang, and Flamethrower.

I am definitely willing to change anything that would help my team. Like I said before, I just started up, and I haven't really done anything with competitive battles. So, advice or tips would be very appreciated! Thanks for reading!

I'll help as much as I can. This is assuming you're playing one of the DS pokemon games: Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver. As I don't know what game you're playing, I can't help too much, but I'll try.

My comments will be in BOLD.

Use the following EV spread and moveset:
252 HP / 128 SpD / 128 Def
-Confuse Ray
-Quick Attack/Return
-Faint Attack
-Moonlilght

Moonlight to heal, Return or Quick Attack for a second attack. Return is stronger than strength with max happiness. Or use Quick Attack for a priority attack.

No. Just no. Don't use 4 moves of the same type on a pokemon. Sure, it gets the Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB), but you can't hit other types. You won't be able to hit ground types at all. A general rule is that you only need one STAB move on a pokemon. The other moves should try to hit other types.

You'll be better off using the following moveset and EV spread:

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spe
-Thunderpunch
-Ice Punch
-Brick Break
-Fire Punch

The Elemental punches give you much better coverage and lets you hit more types super-effectively. When choosing movesets for your pokemon, try to hit as many types for Super-Effective damage as possible.

Haunter Or Gengar: Evs will go to Sp Att. and Speed. Moves: Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Nightmare and Destiny Bond.

Definelty use Gengar over Haunter. The following moveset will give you better coverage:
-Hypnosis
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast

That set hits every type for at least nuetral damage.

Cloyster: Ev's to Def. and Hp. Moves: Iron Defense, Ice Beam, Aurora Beam, and Supersonic

For Cloyster's moveset:
-Iron Defense
-Waterfall
-Poison Jab/Toxic
-Ice Shard

Cloyster's a better physical attacker, so those moves would be best on that set.

Absol: Ev's Attack and Hp. Moves: Future Sight, Me First, Psycho Cut, and Perish Song.

Use Atk and Speed EVs, and the following moveset:
-Night Slash
-Psycho Cut
-Rock Slide
-Swords Dance

Swords Dance to raise your attack to give you critical OHKOs when you need them. Night Slash and Psycho cut for your best attacks, and Rock Slide for more coverage.

Arcanine: Ev's Hp and Attack, Moves: Extremespeed, Reversal, Fire Fang, and Flamethrower.

Use attack and speed evs, along with the following moveset:
-Flare Blitz
-Thunder Fang
-Crunch
-Extremespeed

Thunder Fang hits water types, Flare Blitz for STAB, Crunch for additonal coverage, and Extremespeed for first strike priority.

hello..the good moves for electrive is fire punch,thunder or thunderbolt,charge beam and ice punch...mild nature is better....my opinion..
