Heracross Help

    i cant decide which heracross set to use.. choice band/scarf, life orb/flame orb, or rest talk. i was leaning towards choice scarf:

    Heracross @ Choice Scarf
    Adamant
    252 Atk/252 Spd/4 Hp
    -Megahorn
    -Close Combat
    -Stone Edge
    -Pursuit

    well if you REALLY wanna use Heracross... (which I mean by being outclassed.... If you wanna see what is outclassed, just wait) might want Earthquake instead, but that's just me :)



    OUTCLASSED : HERACROSS
    Starts with Pinsir who is Outclassed by Heracross
    Then Heracross is outclassed by Lucario
    Then if it's not a Special Lucario, it's outclassed by Gallade

    The generations are making a mockery of older pokes

    Heracross-???
    Adamant
    Guts
    252 ATK/252 SPD
    -Slept Talk
    -Pursuit
    -Stone Edge
    -EQ/Brick Break/Close Combat

    SleptTalker, switch when you think a sleep inflicting move is coming, absorb it, let Guts activate and proceed to use Slept Talk.
     
    Megahorn is great for STAB, and to say it's pointless because of Choice Scarf is incorrect, even though the move doesn't have the best accuracy. Earthquake can be useful for coverage in taking out other Fire types, but its standard moveset already carries enough necessary options.

    Although Heracross would lack the greater power from using Choice Band, Choice Scarf is still a threat. It outspeeds almost anything, except for other Choice Scarf users, of course. I can say that I prefer a boost in speed rather than attack, but it's your choice. If you want to try making Heracross your sleep absorber and recieve a boost from Guts, then Sleep Talk over Pursuit.
     
    I like choice band...even the counters, except for something like skarm or gliscor, shudder in fear of the CB, since hera has amazing power with it, and its amazing base attack. Even glis and skarm take a bit of damage...and that's what switching id for, right?

    Personal Opinion: This is the most effective way to use Heracross.

    Actually, Megahorn is kinda needed on Heracross, to give it a chance against bulky Ghosts and Psychics. Pursuit is low power if the foe isn't switching out, so Heracross would have some trouble against the likes of Dusknoir and Claydol without Megahorn.

    STAB Close Combat + STAB Megahorn = frightening combination.
     
    thanks alot everyone. im gonna go with the choice scarf because i like speed in sweepers.
