Here is where you can discuss a tale of gang mischief in "Here Comes The Squirtle Squad."

    My review to come forthwith.

I won't be around today, so posting it mega-early.

    Dude, I love this episode...lol

Squirtle looks like a gangster! That's sorta why he's my favorite pokemon! He looks so METAL that way! His unique personality...yeahl...just yeah...

WHY DID ASH LET HIM GO THAT RETARD!!!!!!!

It was the best introduction for one of Ash's Pokémon, a gangsta turtle. One of the greats of the greatest series, even though it does get a bit of a habbit that most of Ash's Pokémon chose to join him.

This was a great episode. Of course, the Squirtle Squad would dye Misty's hair purple if I don't hurry, so I'll just put my rating.

    Rating: 8/10

Haha Squirtle's sunglasses were cool. Shame he didn't put them on much. I can't remember much else

That's okay. I just remember Team Rocket on their guns. Artbox, when they first did their stickers promotion, Jessie and James with their guns were featured as a chase sticker. How cool was that? Heh.

I loved this episode. I really wish Ash's newer pokemon would have distinct personalities like Squirtle. It seems like they're just recycling the characteristics of his older pokemon in the newer episodes.

I know it was a dub line, but I thought it funny when they threatened to dye Misty's hair purple.

It was a pretty good episode. I mean, it was full of laughs.

If they were to redub this episode, though, I want them to keep in the death threat towards Misty, because the response she gives in the original version is actually one of the more braver things she said (and possibly would have done if Ash didn't leave for it first) (not that she wasn't brave, but still). As Dogasu commented on in his comparison, in the original, after Meowth stated that the Squirtle Squad will kill Misty if he doesn't return by noon, Misty said "If these were the requirements of Ash, she should get the Super Potion in his place." It's such a shame that 4Kids changed that line around (I know it was a death threat, but some other saturday morning cartoons had villains making death threats. I mean, look at "Batman".), because it would have shown more of Misty's personality besides the typical aggressor (hey, I'd rather have her be aggressive than a helpless female, but it wouldn't work if it is for something that shows bravery to do something in someone else's stead.)

Indeed, it's rather jarring, since 4Kids kept the death concern in the previous episode. In a way, you have to note the sheer pathetic ness. You're a 12 year girl (or whatever age she was at the time), suddenly, you're captured by a gang of turtles, and they're threatening to kill you. Not the best way to go, really. Or it would have an ignoble death, which she doesn't deserve.

I have to admire her self-preservation and general feistyness -- she definitely didn't want to die. Still, why her, and not Brock, or something. I'm not alledging misogyny, or anything, but I wonder why she was chosen.

Just to let you know, She's 10. the third episode, or at least it's raw, seemed to hint at her being ten, due to the whole "This is the worst thing that has happened to me in the ten years in my life!" rant when she woke up to Caterpie sleeping next to her.

Oh, she is ten? Serves me right for not paying attention to such things. Meanwhile, all other sources say she's 12 or so. Oops.

Okay, then; thank you for clearing that up.

You would think she was 12 because she's so tall, but girls are taller than boys at 10

Right, I was going to say that, but I didn't think it needed to be said, people grow at different rates. Besides, I think her height plays into her tomboy image nicely.
