Hi I'm ashyboy197 and it's my first day how do you get a pokemon

What do you mean by "get a Pokemon"? This s a forum, which is a place where you write messages to discuss different topics. Can't really get a Pokemon here, but you can always change your avatar to that of a Pokemon image if you'd like! To change your avatar, just click "User CP" and then "Edit Avatar". From there, you can upload a picture from your computer to use as an avatar or use one of the default pictures shown on the page. There are a good bunch you can choose from. :D But if that wasn't what you meant, then.. I'm not sure. If you can be more specific we'd love to help out, but right now it's kind of hard to tell what you mean.
You can also edit your signature through the User CP as well, but to get images to show up in there, you'll have to wrap them in [*img]URL HERE[/*img] tags, without the stars. Just make sure your signature isn't more than 350 pixels in height and 600 pixels in width, though! If you're not sure if a signature is within the limits, just post in the Signatures Rules & Regulations and our members would love to check for you. :3
Since you seem new to forums, make sure to first and foremost read PC's official rules as they outline what is and isn't allowed on the forum. Notice you've already found the Quick Questions & Answers thread, so that's good! You can ask pretty much any forum-related questions there (Pokemon-related questions fo to their respective sections).
