I'm Urya, a 27 year old freelance journalist and editor from The Netherlands.
I've been a big Pokémon fan ever since the first generation. It's what got me to buy a Game Boy as a kid - and what made me buy all of the future handhelds after that. I've mostly been a casual player. I bought the games, beat the gyms and defeated the Elite 4. I sometimes tried to complete my dex, but I often lost interest before I finished.
That is, until earlier this year. I've been trying to complete my Living Pokédex for an article series on a Dutch website - and I feel like I'm making decent progress. I just need seven more pokémon to finish the list, with most of them being event legendaries. Having clocked quite a few hours on that, I feel like delving a lot deeper into the franchise. So digging up my old Pokecommunity account feels like a logical next step. :)
I mostly played the video games during the years. I did have a Trading Card Game starter deck during the first generation, but that didn't hold my interest for too long. I recently did start watching the tv show in order to kill time while hatching eggs - though I'm using a list to cut through all the filler.
With my living dex almost filled, I'll need to find something else to do. Maybe I'll try assembling a competitive team, but it feels sort of pointless. Sun and Moon are pretty close, so I'm afraid the next generation might mess up strategies. But maybe I'm wrong!
