Heeey, welcome to PC, Jay!
I wouldn't say PC is hard to understand, though it might be if you're entirely new to forums altogether. The general gist of this place is easy to get the hang of; all you really do is look for sections you're interested in (say, for example, you like the first and second generations, then you'd stop by and post in the Metal & Color Generation Games section). But you're also able to join in on events that are held rather often here, join in on roleplays, post an art/writing thread, join some clubs, and plenty of other things! PC is big so there's that much more to do here. :D But just remember to read the rules - there are some important things noted there, like how you shouldn't bump threads that haven't gotten a post for over a month, since they're considered dead by then.
I can say more but that's the gist of how everything works. You can always contact one of the moderators if you need more help about specific things (like myself or Cid, the other moderator of New Users)! We'd love to help you. ^^ I see you've made some posts already though so it's great that you're slowly getting the hang of the forum.
