Hello everyone, I stumbled upon your website through a recent interest in hacking games, which as a newbie is vey daunting.

I'm currently playing Pokémon Shield on the Nintendo Switch, I have a game going on Pokémon Yellow for GameBoy where I have 5 badges, but burned out as now I need to grind. I have the TCG Batle Academy but I've never actually played it. Mostly bought it for something me and my daughter can play together. Have some other games I go to and on PC I mostly play retro games.

I have an idea, something I don't know if it's possible. So I'd like to make something like Pokémon Stadium for N64. This would be based on something like FireRed, include the same graphics and keep things original. Just remove the main story, have you enter the world, leave your house and teleport to an open area safari like place where you have (or can obtain) 6 pokeballs, and go catch 6 Pokémon. Then make your way to an arena where you can battle against a random trainer who has 6 random Pokémon, everyone's Pokémon being the same level. Upon defeat, you start over, upon winning all Pokémon are healed up and another challenger appears.

So possible? Not possible? If possible, what sort of things would need to be learned to achieve something like this?

Hello, Spacedeck, and welcome to the forums!
About making ROM hacks and fan games, you will find all the help you need in the Fan Games section!

Pokémon Yellow ? Great memories... ^^ But I admit the means to train pokémon in the first games weren't optimized... That is why, when I started playing the first generations, I was settling to single pokémon (Swampert on Ruby, unstoppable ^^) to 3 pokémon teams!
In my opinion, Black / White 2 are the best games of all for training teams. What is your team on Yellow ?

Your idea on catching 6 pokémon and do battles is quite interesting! I wish you the best of luck to see it come to fruition!

Well so far I have Pidgeotto level 24, Nidorino level 46, Charizard level 37, Seadra level 35, Pikachu level 43 and Snorlax level 30. I might need to have a dig in my box and look at who else to bring in and level up as I don't think I'll get much further with this lot.

And thanks, I don't know what I'm meant to research first as I don't even know what would be required for something like this. Nor how complex it is to achieve or if it's even possible to achieve. I just wanted something like Pokémon Stadium but in the older style games, would be a pretty fun to just mess around on if I know it could be done.
