I couldn't think of a good name for what I want this thread to be. If someone can think of a better name please put it in your post and tell me how to change the name :)
So I was thinking that this can can be a place where you can share things that you've found out in the game that you don't think anyone else knows about or that you just think was really cool and want to share it.

I've found out that besides the master ball, the quick ball is the best way to catch roaming pokemon. I caught raikou and entei with only quick balls, and it didn't take a lot of them either. I had 11 when I started the hunt. I finished with 3 left. I've heard tales of people needing 50-70 ultra balls to catch these "difficult to capture" pokemon, but I found it really easy to catch them.
what you do:
well that's my story of something interesting/helpful/want to share. thing. :) so what have you found in the games?
what you do:
Spoiler:
1. lower the health down to very low red. false swipe while they're in red would probably help a little, but I didn't use it. if you're weakening the pokemon with high lv pokemon you'll probably need it. I used a lv 33 kingler so I didn't need it because I could keep from killing them.
2. put them to sleep. paralysis will probably work too but ... idk, I put them to sleep. I've heard sleeping is a bit better than paralysis somewhere...
3. encounter the dogs. don't use block or ingrain or any of those. just throw a quick ball. if it doesn't work, try again when you find the dog again.
I caught entei after 6 tries. I saved. then I tried to get raikou (who had a little more health left) with the other five balls but it didn't catch. so I reset and after the second ball it was caught. I caught entei in like 15 minutes and raikou in 5-10 minutes. it was really easy.

to prove my point, when I got to dialga in diamond version, first turn I decided to throw a quick ball for the heck of it. full health, no status problem. and caught it first turn. I was amazed. that's when I learned how good the quick ball is. and now that it's caught me the dogs, it's my favorite poke ball.
