4th Gen HG/SS - Increased use of Stylus

Actually instead of having the B button for running and automatic feature would be cool, and it'll make it all the easier to acces it through the touch screen too.

I find that when I am lazy I don't really like using the stylus. It would have been better to keep the start menu on the top screen in my opinion.

I like the idea of having the bag select on the touch screen, because I have always thought that the touch screen wasn't used enough in D/P/Pt. Hopefully they will still have the PokéGear in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, as they could add more functions to that. Maybe they'll include a couple of Pokétch like apps, instead of keeping the basic concept from the original games.

I also think entering the bag screen will be much easier and less fiddly now. Especially scrolling down each menu as you had to click the down button on the D-Pad for ages to get to the bottom if you had a lot of items in it. Whereas with the stylus you should be able to scroll down with ease. They Personally I cannot wait to find out what other features Heart Gold & Soul Silver will have to offer.

I'm in the middle on the whole idea of the menu being on the touch screen, not too keen on the idea, nor am I driven away from it.

It makes it much easier to get to whatever you need in your bag that's for sure, but it'll be annoying having those bland green colors staring you in the face on the bottom screen..
I'm so used to hitting the buttons on the control pad to go to the menu it'll take a while for me to get adjusted.
Overall, change is nice, so I'm willing to give this a shot.

Now I wonder, even though we can open our bag and such from the touch screen, wouldn't the display of everything still be shown on top?

Dang I really don't like the menu on the touch screen. Kills the whole Pokemon feel for me.

It's a good change because I have wasted most of my time scrolling through the bags for simple items for example the exp. share, which is mostly at the bottom of the bag

As long as it's *still* navigable using the D-pad, all's good.

I was hoping they'd do more with the touch screen in sensible ways. I had a whole system worked out for managing boxes on the touch screen which I'd dearly love to see. The usage of the bottom screen for the PC in D/P/P was stupid.

I'm not worried about the increase in stylus use, since I really don't mind it. It's one of the DS's exclusive features, and they are wanting to take advantage of that by using it for more things in the game.

Something came to my head right now. With the underground, they should have almost everything operated with the stylus, because it was awkward using the buttons and stylus at the same time. I'd rather have main gameplay use less of the stylus and mini games and contests use more of it.

I suppose its just Nintendo's way of utilizing the NDS Touch Screen more then before.

Its also a way to get fans even more hyped up about this game coming out, as we all know, new feature = success.

Note: Some new features equal success, not all.

Anyway, about the bag comment and the Touchscreen, if they can have it where you can find your item by first letter, then oh my gosh I would be so ecstatic, because having to go through my bag with all those items was a pain. If they are going to make more use of the touchscreen, then I only hope it'll be in a more beneficial way over somethings that are not needed.

Yeah, for me with the touchscreen when I spin the ball, it would go up sometimes rather than down. So definitely a dragging touch would be better off.

I hope they use the touch screen to come up with a better way to scroll through your items other than that annoying pokeball.

Absolutely hate the new menu on the touch screen. They just ruined a common formula in all the pokemon games, hell all the way from Red and Blue up to Platinum the menu was on top, now they had to go ruin it by placing it on the touch screen.....a PokeGear idea on the touchscreen had me hyped, now I'm not.

Everything comes to an end sometime, and when it does a new door comes to open. Who knows, you migth find the menu being on the TouchScreen a lot easier.
