So if whoever read my pre-post, Aggrivating Hidden Power #$&!, would know that I'm after an Oddish with the right Hidden Power. Fire was my first choice but after multiple-and I mean mutiple-tries with Alex, we got some others that might work out. Here they are, base power 'n all.

    Ice-47
    Electric-47
    Bug-50 something
    Ghost-39

I also got Grass and Poison, but those are useless.
It might be eaiser if you knew Vileplume's moveset. Here it is.

    Vileplume-Black Sludge
    Nature: Calm
    Energy Ball
    Sludge Bomb/Toxic
    Aromatherapy
    Hidden Power-

I could really use some advice. And while your here, which would you prefer, Sludge Bomb, Toxic, or Stun Spore?

You're better off using another move if you have a base power below 60. I generally don't have the patience for HP breeding (although weirdly, I do for IV breeding).

I would go with sludge bomb or stun spore mainly because stun spore will decrease the opponents chances of attacking and slow them down so that they are slower than you and if you were going to have toxic, I would suggest synthesis. And I thought you were going to have sunny day so that you could take advantage of solar beam, hp fire, and chlorophyl.

Everybody advises that, but its just so damn hard to get fire, it makes you feel kinda depressed.

The main reason to use HP Fire on Vileplume is for Chlorophyll use. Sunny Day not only gives you speed, it gives you a boost to your HP damage too.

    Vileplume @ Leftovers
    Nature: Modest
    EV: 6 HP / 252 Speed / 252 SpAtt
    Trait: Chlorophyll
    Sunny Day
    HP Fire
    Solarbeam
    Sleep Powder/Synthesis/Aromatherapy/Stun Spore/Sludge Bomb

I like Sleep Powder personally for the 4th move, but there's quite a range of choices here. You should have enough offence between HP Fire and Solarbeam.

If you get on netbattle, you can enter hp fire and experiment with the iv's and such on oddish, that is a thing I just discovered.

Vileplume uses that VERY well, but I'd rather use him defensive wise, since he pulls that off well, and until I get HP Fire, Ice would have to do, right?

Ice only takes care of flying and rock/ground and if you are going against a flying types, I hope you aren't keeping out your vileplume or it is going to get messed up.

Not if it's only a base power of 47.

Example: Mamoswine can use Ice Pebble to OHKO Salamence quite easily, even with only a base power of 40. Why? Two reasons - STAB, and the 130 base Attack.

Compare to base power 47, no STAB and only 100 base SpAtt, doesn't even come close.

Hmph. I see. What would you recommend it should be?

Not really. Ask Samson or Richard Steel that. He has great sp.atk-not the best, but it ain't shabby. And he isn't so fragile.

But he does pull off this "Sunnybeamer" thing pretty well (one of the best, I assume). So if I can get Fire, Sunnybeam it is, but if not, my previously posted set should suffice.

yes, you don't necessarily need Sunny Day. while Sunny Day helps Vileplume in different ways (HP Fire boost, SolarBeam, Chlorophyll), it also hurts it sooo much, making its vulnerability to fire attacks even worse.

Energy Ball/HP Fire/Sleep Powder/Substitute work quite well on Vileplume. it's a defensive and quite annoying poke that stops walls from doing what they do -- walling.

I meant by the only thing you can get away with as in the only hidden power you can get away with, you did ask which others you could use right before my post didn't you?

My bad. But Electric and/or Ice is adequate, if not inferior, but we can all agree that 47 isn't enough. Will 60 suffice?
