I hope this doesn't already exist because then I'd just look silly, but I'd like the option to hide threads from the section view. Not completely, just like a fade or maybe a collapse or something. Something where I can get it back if I want to, but where those threads are easier to just ignore when I'm browsing a section.

Maybe something similar could exist for individual posts (like the really long ones that I've already read or don't care to read) and even users (though I think ignore user might already exist, can't remember).

Hiding threads/posts isn't possible right now - I'm sure it could be added to a list of features to add! - but you can ignore users.

I've wanted something like this for a while, but on a reply basis. I'm working on a new style that's going to have this feature. n___n #promo2014

I second everything in the first post. On past forums we've had this feature, and it just makes things simpler, quicker and far more convenient in terms of finding the sections you post in. Also, I don't have to scroll to the bottom of the main page constantly with this feature implemented ^.^

you can hide full boards by clicking the little carat on the top right at the top of the board (i.e. Official Forums for example) if that helps you at all. and if that instruction made any sense.

Ah, I didn't notice that. Thanks a bunch!

I think what needs to be focussed on next is specific hiding of sections. For example, I like going on Pokémon General, but every other sub-section in that main section is just a hassle. You feel me?

That's really unnecessary. If you only visit one forum, you could just add it to your bookmarks and click that. Much easier than bugging the admins to add another unnecessary feature.

The whole forum is unnecessary. It might be more work than it's worth in the end based on how many people would use it and how much work it would take, but that's not our call, it's the call of the people that know how long it would take and how busy they are and how interested they are in the idea.

No need to shoot someone down just because you wouldn't use the feature they think is a good idea.

If a feature like this were to exist, I could imagine there to be a "keyword filter" of sorts in your user control panel, which would automatically collapse all threads and posts that contain these words. I personally wouldn't mind it; probably won't be using it myself, but I'm sure others will, and that's great!

I didn't shoot him down, I stated my opinion. Is that wrong? I know that I've no place to say whether or not the people in charge should do it but the fact that there is an alternative to the feature he is requesting should account for something. For the record, making a bookmark is also much more convenient than loading the whole forum and then clicking on the desired section.
