    Welcome to the future.

    Welcome to Hoenn Sans Necross.

After the more recent battle between Groudon and Kyogre, the red and blue orbs were, of course, returned to Mt. Pyre. And we thought that that chapter of the story ended there and then.
    But in truth...

    It was only the beginning.

After they were returned to Mt. Pyre, the two orbs began reacting to a bizzare cahnge in the atmosphere. Something on Mt. Pyre was happening, something these two vessels of divine power did not like at all. Catclysims spread across the small mountain, earthen seizures and massive waves crashing up on the shore. All was chaos.

    The uprisal had begun.

Something had started when the orbs were stolen, energy began shifting and emenating from the mountain. Spirits were materializing. It was a massive uprisal of damned souls.

Soon these sacro-holy beings began wreaking havok throughout the land of hoenn, but they did not leave the watery shores. Therefore the island towns were the only safe havens. Many pepole flocked in fear and panic to paciflidog, dewford, sootopolis, and mosdeep, seeking refuge. Even from the islands, you could hear the screams and explosions of unsettled spirits destroying the mainland along with its occupants. The land of hoenn, except for the small islands, had become a true living hell.

That was about seventeen years ago.

Scouts began visiting the now silent mainland, to find that all the ghosts and spirits tht had been invisibly destroying everything hoenn was had finally departed. Some pepole began cautiosly returning to the mainland, to see what their beloved land had become.

In addition, many new trainers began coming to the mainland, to help fight off any spirits that had remained, and to explore what was left of their home.

You are one of those trainers.

Your job and objectives: Find any survivors. Help ward off any remaining spirits. And most of all, find out what on earth happened to the land of hoenn, and how and why.

    ~The all-important RULES~

1: All normal forum rules, of course.

2: some minimal swearing is allowed, but nothing worse than "****", please.

3: Only one character per person.

4: No godmodding, piggybacking, or whatever.

    5: No mary-sues, please. And don't think I won't look carefully.

6, and listen up because this is important: We are NOT using an HP/Level-based battle system. It will be more anime-style. However, stick to four moves in your pokemons battle set at one time, and keep it believalbe in battles. Don't think I won't check. Also, please don't be catching a million pokemon per post, as that gets really annoying. -.-
7: As far as pokemon from other regions go, it is okay if your character finds and/or battles and/or catches some, but don't overuse the rule. Stick to mostly Hoenn 'mon. And only feature wild pokemon from other regions where it would be logial to find them, meaning no hippopotass in peatalburg woods, or anything like that.
8: As far as TMs and move tutors, let's not use TMs. There's no logical explanation for how they work, so...however, you may have your Pokemon know some moves that they would not normally learn, but nothing that would be illogical for them to know. For instance, it would be perfectly acceptable to have a misdreveaus with shadow tag, or a houndoor with faint attack. But nothing stupid like a magneton with hyper fang.

    ~The equally all-important CHARACTER SHEET~

    Character name: Thomas Mitchell
    Character age: 16
    Gender: Male
    Home island: Pacifidlog
Appearence: Thomas is 6 ft. 3 in. tall, has long dirty blonde hair that curls just above his eyes. His eyes are a dark blue with a bit of green mixed in. Thomas is also mildly muscular. He wears a dark blue jacket with a black shirt underneath, and he frequently wears a pair of baggy faded blue jeans, with black shoes to top it all of.
Additude/personality: Thomas is a quiet person although he has an aura about him that causes people to like to be near him, which generally annoys him unless he likes them. Generally Thomas doesn't open up to people very easily, and gets along best with people who tend to not question him too much. Also very hard to anger. Thomas is a constant thinker, and commonly gets lost in his thoughts if given too much free time. Quite impatient with unimportant things, he generally wanders from place to place, and has always been itching for something better then just "living", he wanted to "LIVE". When there is a task he needs to do, his focus is never lost. As a side note, he is quite skilled at sneaking up on people on accident.
Starter pokemon: Horsea, male. A sharp thinker that generally is quite serious
Bio: Thomas was born in Pacifidlog and was unaware of anything that had happened on the mainland because of his lack of interest in anything that didn't directly have to do with him. When he was 10 he finally found out about what had happened to the mainland and started to get an itch for an adventure. Sometime after he had turned 12, he met a Horsea who was messing with a few other pokemon, and after a while of watching, decided to get the Horsea to stop it's antics. Several hours later Thomas had convinced the Horsea to stop. That was when Thomas discovered how much he liked pokemon, and from that day forward, spent nearly every day with the Horsea. 4 years later, and Thomas gained permission to head onto the mainland with his buddy the Horsea.

    Name: Carolyn Wind
    Age: 12
    Gender: Female
    Home Island: Dewford
Appearance: Carolyn is always trying out new styles with her almost white hair. She wears a bracelet with moon and star shaped pieces of real silver on it. Her clothes are usually a navy blue sweatshirt with a pale blue tanktop on underneath. She always wears jeans. For shoes she has a pair of beat-up tennis shoes that were once black but have faded slightly to a dark grey. Carolyn has teal eyes and pale skin. She is very thin at 80 lbs and she is about 5' tall.
Personality: Carolyn is somewhat creative with what she says, but usually says the wrong thing at the wrong time. She is very docile and makes friends, not enemies. Although Carolyn is brave, she is not always willing to take extreme risks. Being full of thought, Carolyn often finds herself lost. She always is able to find her way, despite this.
Starter Pokemon: Sableye. Male. He has soft fur and is quite playful. He loves pulling pranks. Nicknamed Eclipse.
Biography: Carolyn grew up with stories from her parents of the Hoenn mainland before it became what it is now. Growing up in an upper middle class family, she had many nice things. Carolyn always had a deep love of pokemon and would often play with tha family pet, a persian. All her life Carolyn wanted to be a trainer, because she loved all pokemon, but none more than ghost types. She is such a big fan of these creepy pokemon because she loves mystery.
RP Sample: Carolyn was overjoyed. Today was the day she would get her first pokemon. The decision had been a no-brainer. She would pick sableye, after all, it was a ghost type. She walked into the building and asked for her pokemon, eager to start the training and many adventures that come with being a trainer.

    ***

When Carolyn got out of the building, she was ready to meet her Sableye, which she had decided to call Eclipse. "Alright Eclipse, come on out!" A flurry of light signaled the arrival of her pokemon. "Sableye, sable sable." "Wow! How cute are you!" Carolyn hugged her sableye, but he did not seem to mind. "Hey, I wonder what moves you know..." Carolyn trailed off as Eclipse demonstrated his two known moves. Scratch was first, a quick attack move using Eclips's powerful claws, and leer second, frightening enough to make even Carolyn flinch. "Cool, scratch and leer. It is not a lot, but not to worry! You will get more powerful soon and soon enough and you'll learn a new move."

Exploding with excitement, Carolyn headed home to show her parents her first pokemon.

    Darkrai trainer: Approved! :)

Okay, I thought I might as well do mine now.

    Character name: Kaiser Redsash
    Character age: 14
    Gender: Male
    Home island: Mosdeep
Appearence: Stands around 5' 4", weighs about 125 lbs. Looks skinny, but does have a tiny bit of fat. Has olive skin, shiny, wavy dark brown hair, and chocolate-brown eyes. Usually wears charcoal-Grey jeans, brown hoodie(unzipped), orange stripey T-shirt, red headband.
Additude/personality: Sometimes quiet and a bit stand-offish towards people at first, but very nice and funny once he gets to know a person. Very kind towards others, has a great sense of humor, knows how to have a good time. Always quick-thinking, good at staying calm and analyzing any given situation.
Starter pokemon: Snorunt, female, named mazy. Very energetic, but can be quiet and passive too. (Note: Kai does not have Mazy yet, he gets her in his first post.)
Bio: Kai has heard many stories of the happenings on the mainland since he was very young, and this gave him an interest in all things occult. He has also always wanted to be a pokemon trainer, as his mother always surrounded him with tales of his father's exploits as a very respected trainer, who stayed on the mainland to try and fight off the uprisal. He wants to explore the mainland for three reasons: One, to become a great trainer, two, to help rebuild what's left of the region, and three, to find out what became of his father.
    RP sample:
Kai ran down a dark alleyway, his right hand clutching his left side, which was bleeding from the knife wound. As he turned the corner he saw Dreia waiting for him in the car. He ran as fast as he could, wincing and muttering colorful swear words from the pain. He opened the door and got in, muttering "I got it, just as palnned. Let's go." Dreia looked at the wound. "Kai, you're bleeding..." Kai whirled on her. "SCREW THE $*&%-ING BLOOD, NOW GO BEFORE WE BOTH GET KILLED!" He screamed. Dreia sighed, and ground the pedal to the floor.
Kai sighed in relief as tehy drove off, hearing the sound of the guards' angry screams and yells. He took the computer chip from his pocket, and grinned, despite the pain. "We did it, Dreia. As soon as we meet up with Wes and the others, we can finally expose these guys." Dreia was silent for a moment, and then pulled a gun from her pocket, aiming it right between Kai's eyes.
"Okay, mister smart guy," Said Dreia, "Hand it over. NOW." Kai growled. "You little..." He trailed off. "NOW." She said again. Kai smirked. "Okay, sure..." He held out his hand, the chip sitting in his palm. Dreia whisked it out of his hand while steering with her knees. She relaxed a bit, and that was when Kai grabbed the gun from her, rapped her over the head with it, and, kicking the drivers side door open, flung her out of the car. He moved into eth drivers side...
...Just as the car hit a tree. The engine was smashed, and a small fire started. The last thing Kai saw before blacking out was the smoking engine. His last thought...Now nobody will have the chip...It was still in sight, on the ground nearby. He pulled the trigger, firing a bullet into it, and then he knew no more. It would be ten minutes before anything would be found.

Meanwhile, Toby was working at his laptop furiously wshen Wes came over with teh tea. Toby sipped gratefully.
    "Thanks, I needed this."
"No problem," Wes said. "Now listen, I think I found a lead..."
He pulled out a small scrap of paper, which looked ripped from a book. "I found this in one of my Dads old books. I think he put it in there in case we ever discovered what he and you and Kais motehr were working on."
Toby frowned, and took the paper. "Let's see..." He muttered. The page read as follows:

    Alchemy in modern society

In modern day civilization, alchemy is rarely experimented with, which is, perhaps, for the better. However, technological alchemy is a reletivally new form of the subject. Such is, basically, a form of creating A.I, but on a wholly different level."

"The rest of the page I left in the book." Wes explained. "But look at what my dad wrote..." He pointed at how the words "Technological alchemy" Were underlined and circled, a line from teh circle leading to an empty margin, where the words "Nexus corporation" Had been hastily scribbled. There was more, as well. The word "A.I." Was also circled and underlined, and also had a line leading to teh hastily scribbled words. Toby swore under his breath. "So it IS them...we have to get Kai out of there."

Okay, unless we get any more people in the next couple of days, we can go ahead and start. :)

hah i only just noticed that the four of us are at different places...hopefully someone'll join so we won't be all seperated and what not. Sorry if I has the concept aLL screwy about being seperated...

No, you're right, actually. That's teh idea...

So, if we don't get anyone by tommorow morning, let's just start. We can always leave teh sign-ups open for a little while...

    Character name: Elric Sullivan
    Character Age: 17
    Gender/pref: Male (gay)
    Home island: Dewford.
Appearence: Elric is not a particularly tall boy, standing at an average five feet and ten inches, and isn't much more than 120 pounds, judging by his sunken chest and small arms - though his legs remain very athletic and able. Similarly, his small arms are still able to lift his own body weight while mantling a wall; his abdomen shows but little sign of developed muscles as well.

He carries himself like the secretive type that he knows he is - therefore, he can often be seen in darker, tight-fitting clothing that shows off his small body, or something that would blend in with his surroundings for the sake of his own tact. He's something of a quirky type when it comes to fashion, however, and he has never been observed wearing anything such as jewelry, etc... Except for the long black bandana that rests just above his large, intelligent brown eyes and just below the thick, shoulder-length nest of brown hair.

Facially he meets the standards of anybody else that stays up late getting hours in on favorite videogames; dark circles form fissures beneath his eyes and atop the delicate, blackened skin, and his facial hair is kept rather rough with medium-to-little growth to form what barely passes as a full beard.

A cleft in his chin cleanly divides the two portions of his face, each with it's own separate distinguishing features. Among them, he has a large, brutally-inflicted scar slashed across his right eye which runs from the right-center of his forehead - hidden by his bandana - down to the middle of his right cheek. It's age is apparent from the lack of other signs of a fresh wound. On his left side, a vein shows beneath his left eye, just under the socket, and is typically only very visible in bright light.

Very normalized and equivalent lips rest an inch and a half below his low cheeks, and an almost imperceptibly-off-center nose ridge tells a tale of childhood violence with others his age, to which he tends to keep quiet about.

Additude/personality: Elric is something of a quiet individual when he isn't in direct conversation, but this quickly changes when he is addressed. He is the kind of person that is absolutely unable to hold a grudge, and he loves all forms of life for all that they are worth. He tends not to get into fights or confrontations - due to conflicts in his childhood with his parents and other children - and for all intents and purposes one would absolutely be unable to tell him from a straight boy his age. He carries himself without any perceptible effeminate traits as do the others in Dewford that share his preference for men, which makes him many friends very quickly.

He has no known enemies and does everything he can to resolve conflict peacibly as they form before him, and he does not like to have harsh feelings of hatred or even strong dislike for anyone.

Starter pokemon: Female Sableye named Judas.
Bio: Elric is known around Dewford as 'Sneaky Snake' for two reasons in particular: as a child, it is rumored around the town that he remained locked in his room for over twenty days, his eyes glued to his television as he played a stealth-action videogame that had recently been released, in which the protagonist was named Snake; and, idolizing this character for lack of a strong male presence in his home as a child, Elric began a trend of sneaking around the town, hiding in tall grass and playing hide-and-seek with his Sableye.

Then came his broken nose by sneaking up on the wrong person, and the subsequent scar by running away, only to trip on his untied shoelaces and slash his face on the sharp point of a tree branch.

Elric was never formally schooled; instead, he learned the art of stealth on his own, the art of combat from a friend's mother, and he picked up on a real, concrete curriculum in a public school by studying a friend's notes. It is said by his closest friends that as he ascended into puberty, his best friend, Arlene Sanders (a talking, upright-standing red fox, an oddity in his part of the world), left town after dwelling in Dewford for over two years, which in turn caused Elric to seek the attention of the same sex out of shock from the experience. Nonetheless, it left him depressed and suicidal due to his lack of other true friends that had been as close as Arlene.

For some time, Elric had become easily agitated, and had thrown himself into many small brawls with children larger and more powerful than himself - but he didn't seem to care. It earned him many bruises, which at the time, he wore as badges to display his bravery in the face of bullies his age.

That being slightly over four years ago, Elric has now secured his place as one of the small percentage of Dewford's population that identify as gay. And due to the way he handles himself, he has never made any true enemies, homophobic or otherwise.

RP Sample: All was dark. Arlene had passed out cold from the sheer force of the electricity screaming through her body...

It was midnight when Arlene woke finally. She remembered little of what had happened, just... The raw fury that flowed through her, the immense hatred for that metal-clad assailant... Whatever he'd done, he would pay. When at first she opened her eyes, it was hard to tell if she had actually lifted her eyelids, due to the immense emptiness of the sky, the unyielding darkness that surrounded her. She couldn't even tell what direction she was facing at first. But once the feeling came back and the jolt returned in her sensitive nerves, she knew immediately. Snow was all around her, and the frigid cold was almost too much for her fur to keep away. She still remained relatively temperate beneath her pretty orange coat, but where exactly she was relative to her previous location was still a mystery.

She stood tenderly, adamant about being absolutely quiet. She did not want to alarm anyone or anything nearby, if an assailant was still near. She skillfully looked around at first, but suddenly, pain overtook her entire body. Her left leg buckled under just her own weight, and her right side went into spasms. She fell into the snow with a feathery "thud", and the blinding agony gripped her senses for a moment... When it subsided, she reached down, checking for abnormalities in her form. Fear drew her into a recessive state of mind as she passed a cold paw over her leg and noted that one part of her thigh was slightly off-angle; she had somehow broken a leg. And from the feeling in her chest, maybe a rib or two.

She forced herself to stand again, and limped a few agonizing paces over to a better vantage point to view her surroundings, clutching her aching side with one paw. She was barely able to stand, but despite the burning pain shooting at her, stabbing her from every direction, licking at her bones... She was still able to overwatch the area and think tactically. Her belongings were huddled up next to someone else's bag, and the person in question was out cold - or dead - in the snow, silent. Sighing, partially from pain, Arlene knew that whoever it was would not survive long without her help. She struggled along the snow path she had created by unintentionally dragging her broken leg through the loose mush, and carefully lowered herself down onto one knee. In the cold night air, the human in front of her would surely die of pneumonia and hypothermia if she didn't do anything.

Biting the immense, unimaginable pain rocking her to the core, the vixen gripped the boy intensely by the clothing and lifted him up onto her shoulders, at the same time dislodging him from the snow, and painfully carried him over to a nearby alcove formed into a rock face that spiked out of the snow. She then angrily fought against her own body to retrieve their bags, doing the best attempt she could to carry all three at once to their new temporary camp. She collapsed nearby suddenly, shocked as her vision became blurred and surreal... The gasping vixen coughed up a considerable amount of blood before regaining her composure and lifting herself up, and continuing to the campsite; where she promptly dropped everything from her shoulders. She was tired, very hungry, and filled to the brim - to the point where she could no longer withstand - with a fiery anguish unlike any she had ever faced.

Once again, unable to face the terrible agony, she doubled over and collapsed in the snow, though still conscious. Her energy spent, she knew that soon she would be far too weak to move. Whatever was wrong with her was very serious, possibly life-threatening. Once again, a dizzy spell overtook her, and she coughed until she expelled bodily fluids. Thankfully, this time, there was less blood. Or was it that she had lost alot already... And she was running out? Fearful, she struggled to stand again, forcing her weight onto her good leg, and shakily called out to the human boy, "Hey...! Get up!"

[[ Elric's theme song: Control Denied: Breaking The Broken / Lyrics ]]

    Darkhaven3: Approved!

Now, I'd like to have at least one more person join before we start, but we'll see how it goes. :)

You know, I really doubt that we'll get any more people...
It would be better to just start with what we have now.

Yeah, I had meant to do this this morning, but some stuff came up...anyways, I'm going to start the RPing now, but sign-ups will remain open until everybody has made their first post, unless that takes too long.

IC: Kai was sitting at the kitchen counter, quietly nibbling a eating a breakfast burrito when his mother entered the room. "Kai?" SHe said, seeing the troubled look on Kai's face. "Is something the matter?"
Kai sighed and put down teh burrito, and stood up to face his mother. There would be no easy way to say what he needed to say. He sighed.
"Mom," he began, "I've come to a decision. I know you won't like it, but that isn't going to change my mind. I've decided that I'm going to the mainland, as a trainer, to-" His mother cut in. "No!" She shouted. "No, you can't! Goddamit, Kai, after what happened to your father...I won't allow it!"
Kai sighed again, and fished around in his left pants pocket, procuring a small plastic card. "It's too late, Mom. I already took the certification test, and I passed with flying colors. I have my card right here." His mother stared at him for a moment, teary-eyed, and then collapsed, crying, to the floor. "I knew it...I knew it from the day I first told you about your father...you'll die, just like him..." Kai knelt down and hugged his mother. "No, mom, I'll be okay. And we don't know that Dad's...well..."
He and his mother both stood up, and she looked at him with a mixture of sadness, pride, and love. "When are you leaving...?" She asked, her voice less wobbly now. "The next boat for the mainland leaves tonight," Said Kai. "I'm going to go into the shoal cave to find a partner, and then I'll be off." His mother smiled. "Then go. I can pack you some stuff, if you want..."
Kai smiled back at his mother. "Thanks, mom, but I already have." And then Kai walked out of the house, taking his time down to the depths of the shoal cave.

    Character name: Ryan Mamilis
    Character age: 15
    Gender: Male
    Home island: Sootopolis
Appearence: Long black hair that always hangs over his eyes. Has deep blue eyes. Wears a black t-shirt and a dirty un-washed green hoodie. Always wears swimming shorts incase of a perfect swimming spot!
Additude/personality: Cheerful and friendly and LOVES to swim! Until the end of a long day, when he becomes a moody time bomb and short tempered.
Starter pokemon: A female Chincho named Sparky. Cute and playful, gives the occasional uncalled for zap!
Bio: Sootopolis's champion swimmer. In grade school, was one of the most commended. High grades and polite. Rude behind the teachers backs. Until high school, where he became angry and moody. He lost many friends and grades. Many detentions... Went into an extreme depression. Until he met Sparky...
RP sample: Ryan stepped outside his door. It was another typical Sootopolis day. Sunny and no wind. "Perfect swimming!" yelled Ryan to Sparky. "Chiiiiin!" said Sparky sleepily. Ryan scooped Sparky up and ran down the stairs, past the Pokemon Centre and dove into the clear blue water. He dove under the water and swam through the small cave at the edge of Sootopolis and into the open sea.

As morning came to Pacifidlog, Thomas was walking towards the docks. 'Hm, maybe I should have waited until mom was up until I left, oh well the note will just have to do...' In the next instant, a splash of water revealed a Horsea, swimming in circles happily. "Hey, Horsea, you ready to go to the mainland?" ,Thomas said, holding up a pokeball. Horsea shook his head once, then jumped at the ball, Horsea was his now.
'Hmm, I'm gonna have to thank my mom for the pokeball the next chance I get...' ,Thomas thought. In the next 10 minutes Thomas had arrived at the docks, with the sun shining through the clouds."Hey kid, are you ready to go?" ,a voice called. Turning around Thomas spotted the owner of the boat he was leaving on. "Yeah, let's hurry up and get out of here..." ,Thomas answered quietly.

...It seemed like forever had passed by on the boat, it was just a little past noon, with the sun shining high in the sky. "Hey, how much longer until we get to...uh, wherever it is?", Thomas asked the boatman. "Hm, well let's see..." ,the man pulled out a small piece of paper, looking it over. "Hm, it should only be about an hour or so to Slateport, or rather, where it used to be...", he said with a grin. "Well then I'm gonna take a nap, would you wake me once we get there?", Thomas asked quietly. "I'll be sure to, have a nice nap kid", the answer came.

Carolyn had made her choice, to go to the mainland, but she was starting to regret it... Eclipse sensed this and slapped Carolyn in the shoulder. "Hey Eclipse! What was that for!? Hmmm, I think I know, and yes, we are still going to the mainland. This is a wonderful chance to explore new places and create wonderful adventures. She may even make some new friends on the mainland, others whho decided to go there.

The captain of the boat she would take called out, asking for everyone to board. Carolyn stepped on while Eclipse rode on her shoulder. Carolyn leaned over the railing of the dock slightly so she could see the water. It lapped back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. Suddenly, a huge blue and white back broke the endless washing of waves. Carolyn took out her pokedex. "Wailord the float whale pokemon. The biggest of all Pokemon. It can dive to a depth of almost 10,000 feet on only one breath." (thank god my sister has the national pokedex on her game) "Wow that is cool!" The wailord sprayed a beautiful jet of water out of it's blowhole "Whaaaaaaloooord!" "Oh, how amazing!" Carolyn reached for a pokeball but as soon as she was ready the wailord dove back under. "Oh well, it probably wouldn't have been caught anyway."

As Carolyn watched the waves she began to wonder if the boat was ever going to leave. She was becoming anxious to go. Carolyn looked around and sighed. There was no sign of the boat getting ready to leave. She pulled out her i-pod and began to listen to some of her favorite songs while humming along. Eclipse sat on the railing, she figured he wanted to see the wailord again, and attakc it. "Eclipse you know you are never going to see it. The wailord could be at a depth of 10,000 feet by now!"

She took out her headphones and then a wailmer surfaced, the baby form of wailord. While she was watching a sableye seemed to jump out of no where and landed on the wailmer's back. Carolyn wondered what kind of trainer would let their pokemon do that. Oh god, thought Carolyn, that sableye is most definately Eclipse. "Hey Eclipse, come back!" She tried to return him to his pokeball but he kept dodging the red light that would return him to safety. Thinking fast, Carolyn got out a pokeball and threw it. Wailmer was inside now and Eclipse was focused on staying afloat. Carolyn was able to return him.

Having Eclipse safe and sound, Carolyn paid no attention to wailmer. Then she decided to check on it. She could see the pokeball, sitting still, except for being rocked by the waves. Then she realized that being still meant that wailmer was caught, she had a wailmer. With a large pole and a piece of cloth that she found on deck, Carolyn pulled the pokeball back up. Now she had it in her hands, and she was ready to see wailmer. "Okay, come on out, uh, hmm, I'll call you Bubbley. Not the most creative name, but you are big, fat, and a water type right? So yeah, come out Bubbley!" The wailmer flopped into the water off the side of the large boat.

"Well Bubbley, I want you to be out of your ball on the trip, so looks like you will have to swim to the mainland."

OOC: If you don't think I should have caught Bubbley then just tell me and I'll edit the post. Also, the boat is still docked so if you want to get on, Darkhaven3, then be my guest.

OOC: Cobja619: Approved! :D Sign-ups are now closed.

~Rotom~, that's fine catching another pokemon, but just stick with those two for a while, and when you get more, keep it believable.

Also, a rule I forgot to mention, brought to my attention by SwiftSwim:

As far as pokemon from other regions go, it is okay if your character finds and/or battles and/or catches some, but don't overuse the rule. Stick to mostly Hoenn 'mon. And only feature wild pokemon from other regions where it would be logial to find them, meaning no hippopotass in peatalburg woods, or anything like that.

    IC:
Kai shivered as he walked through the dark recesses of the shoal cave. His flashlight shone across teh caverns, showing that it was low tide at the moment. Good, thought Kai, it's safer that way.
Soon, it got very cold, and Kai noticed ice on the walls. He had no idea how long he had been down here. Then he heard something that made him drop the flashlight, which promptly turned off. Kai could see hardly anything, but the noises came again and again. Screams?! He knelt down to pick up the flashlight, and so just barely missed an angry zubat careening for his face. He turned the light on, to see nearly fifty zubat, all buzzing around a small pokemon...A snorunt.
Kai ran yelling at the zubats, not sure what else to do. They flew off in all directions, leaving the small snorunt battered, bruised, and shivering. He knelt down to look at it. It looked back with a gaze of sorrowful gratitude. "Are you hurt?" Kai whispered to it. It slowly got up, and shook itself. It looked exhuasted, but mostly unharmed. Kai picked it up. "Here, I'll take you back to my house, and get you some rest." The little snorunt huddled to Kai, and they began walking the way Kai had come, eventually exiting the cave into the early evening. Only a few hours until Kai would be off...

Ryan and Sparky swam through the seaweed on the sea bed, narrowly avoiding Clampearls and Relicanths. Then the sea bed began to tremble. Clampearls slammed their shells shut and Relicanths fled. Ryan looked up. There was a cluster of bubbles and the distinct hull of a ship. A ship? In Sootopolis? It was wierd... Suddenly there was a splash! And a big net fell quickly towards the pair. It was to fast to avoid. Ryan and Sparky were caught! "Chiiiiiiiin!!!" cried Sparky. Ryan covered his mouth. ("Air....") he thought. ("I...Need air!!!!") He pulled on the net but the rope was strong. Then they went up. Ryan gulped down air. Then they felt the boat move. Ryan scwirmed to get out, but it was no use.

OOC: Another thing has been brought to my attention by SwiftSwim(maybe he should be running this XP): I sort of misphrased things when I said that the mainland was "destroyed". Just to clear things up, the towns and cities are largely broken down, and some completely destroyed. The environment has only been hugely changed in areas around the communities of the region. Hope that clears it up. :)

IC: Kai had set the snorunt down on the couch at teh house, and had tended to its wounds. "Now then," Kai said to it, "Do you have a name?" The snorunt, who seemed able to understand human speech, shook its head. Kai pondered. It appeared to be a girl...it was quiet, but very curious, and seemed to have lots of energy. It reminded Kai of his little cousin, mazy, who seemed to be everywhere at once...
"How about 'mazy'?" Kai asked the snorunt. It seemed to like the name, and bounced on the couch a couple times. Kai looked up at the clock. "You know, Mazy," He said, "I have to go soon. I'm going to the mainland." Mazy seemed very interested. Kai smiled. "Do you want to come?" Mazy jumped up and down, making little squealing noises. Kai laughed. "Okay, let's go!"
Kai entered his bedroom, and grabbed his bag, to make sure he had everything. Water bottle, pokenav, poke balls, a few books, matches, some food, first aid kit... Then he grabbed his wallet, stuffed with long-saved allowance, and was about to leave when he noticed his small pocket notebook.
It was old, but had a very cool design on the cover. The pencil was attached by a thick red piece of thread. Maybe he could use this for something...he stuffed it in his pocket. Then he and Mazy left the house, running down to the port. His mother, aunt, uncle, and cousin were all there to see him and Mazy off. After several quick hugs and some exclamation over Mazy, Kai got on the boat, flashed his trainer card at the money collector(trainers got on for free), and was off.

"Hey, kid wake up, we're at Slateport" ,the boat man said. Thomas rolled over with a yawn, and got up. "At last, it's time for some f--", Thomas lost his words upon looking at the wreck that was Slapteport. He had seen pictures of when it was still flourishing, and this was just...so different. It hit him at that moment, that if the rest of Hoenn was like this, then it would be a gloomy adventure. 'I hope not' , is all Thomas could think about that thought.

The boat had hit the beach and Thomas hopped out. "Thanks for the ride..." ,Thomas said, and walked off with a wave. The beach was, as expected, a beach, the rest of the city however, was a wreck and as such, difficult to navigate. the buildings had fallen apart, the roads were overgrown with grass, and the water was a murky color from the years that it was left to its own devices, so to speak. "Man, this place is depressing, I think it would be best to just make a quick search of this place, and then leave..." ,Thomas planned. Walking around the city had taken longer than planned, and as Thomas reached the beach again, it was nearly nightfall.

"Jeez, nothing, this is so lame...hm, a house?", Thomas said, noticing a house nearby. "It's getting dark out, that house will have to do for the night. Coming closer to the house, he saw a sign that read 'Beach House', and looking inside revealed some tattered mats, some fallen over bookshelves, and a hammock in the back. 'Not much to this place, at least the hammock still looks good...' ,Thomas thought, while trying to figure out where he would sleep. "Good a place as any to sleep, I guess" ,Thomas said climbing into the hammock. 'Goodnight Horsea...'

Ryan was finding hard to breath. He was covered with Magikarp which were pointlessly floping about. Ryan rolled onto his side. He looked at the sky. He could see the top of a big building with L.D.S written on it. Lilycove Department Store... He swore under his breath. He was so far away for Sootopolis. And knowing mum she was calling rescue crews and gathering search partys. The boat docked with a crunch. The net slowly rose into the air and fell to the hard concrete ground. The net was opened and an old trawler looked into the net. "Hey theres a kid in th---" before he could finish Ryan had lept out the net and was bolting out of the Dock. The man chased after him but stopped when his hip gave out. Ryan was still running when he un-noticingly ran into tall grass and a Duskull jumped out at him.
