Kais boat had arrived at lilycove that morning, and Kai and Mazy were walking about the wreckage that had once been a peaceful port town. Many houses were still at least partially intact, but there were smears of blood, burn marks, wreckage, and the occasional dead body strewn everywhere. Kai shuddered. Then he saw the other trainers from the boat gathering down at teh half-intact lighthouse. Kai ran down to join them, mazy at his heels.
Two brackets of trainers were set up. One to help begin rebuilding broken down homes and buildings, and one to look throughout and around the town for any survivors. Kai was in the latter of the two. They searched house after broken house, but found nobody. So they began wandering teh surrounding area, looking for anybody who might be still alive. Then he heard running footsteps; a boy ran past him, into the tall grass. A moment later tehre was another noise, and Kai ran after teh boy.

OOC: The boy is Ryan, of course.

IC: The boy was being attacked by a duskull, and before he could do anything Kai was assaulted by another. He swore under his breath. "Mazy, are you ready to battle?" Mazy jumped up and down, energized for the fight. "Then let's go! Hit the thing with a blizzard!" Mazy sent chilling wind at the duskull, who began retreating. "Now, get it with a good, solid bite!" Mazy ran up and chomped the duskull's head. That was one down, but the other boy still had teh other one attacking him.

Carolyn took out her i-pod and listened some more, this time she actually was able to hear more than background music.

Wise men say, only fools rush in
but I can't help falling in love with you
shall I stay
would it be a sin
if I can't help falling in love with you...

This was on e of Carolyn's favorite songs. She listened a while, still waiting for the boat to leave. Carolyn watched as bubbles blew up right on the side of the boat, and Bubbley started getting irritated at something. Carolyn figured that the wailord was coming back up, as she knew that wailords sometims blew bubbles before they surfaced. Ith was a little strange though, the placing of the bubbles would mean that wailord would come...

Under the boat. Carolyn ripped out her headphones and stuffed them in her backpack, she grabbed Eclipse quickly and held on tight, other people were staring. Suddenly the boat screeched as the astronomical pokemon pushed it up. Luckily the boat was small so there were hardly more people than just Carolyn on it. The force tipped the boat to one side and Carolyn tumbled into the water. She struggled, gasping for breath, when a a small, but still quite big and round body popped up under her, it was Bubbley. "Hey Bubbley! Thanks for that, but now we can't get to the mainland, unless you know the way. I don't want to end up in Kanto or anything." As if he had understood her, Bubbley sped off toward what Carolyn hoped was the mainland.

***

It seemed like hours had gone by, but when Carolyn checked her watch she was surprised to see that it had benn only a little over an hour. She was astonished at how fast Bubbley was because she could just see the faint outline of land against the horizon. The sun was just starting to disappear behind a mountain so Carolyn figured thay would be there before dark. She sat back and took a short nap, for Bubbley's round body was quite soft and held her on well too, Eclipse kept watch from bubbley's head.

"Wailmer. Waaaaiiiilmeeer. WAILMER-MER MER!" Carolyn had slept longer than intended and woke up on the sand. Eclipse was pushing Bubbley who was beached on, well, the beach. Carolyn returned him to his pokeball, and looked around. The city they had landed in was destroyed and some of the buildings were only rubble. There was a small dock, and beyond it she could see a ship leaving. Carolyn then heard a noise coming from a little further away. She ran over to see two boys occupied with some duskull. One of them had a snowrunt that used a powerful blizzard to knock one of the duskull back. Then the most extrordinary thing happened. Or maybe not, after all Carolyn had just had so many extrordinary things happen to her. But as she looked, out of the bush where the duskulls had come a huge dusclops pushed through. "Whoa! A dusclops, no time to check the pokedex now, we need to win this fight, but Eclipse is too young." Then it hit her, wailmer could breathe air, in fact, the always did. "Come on out, Bubbley! Now, use bubble!" Bubbley did not use bubble as Carlyn asked, but instead bubblebeam, much more powerful.

Carolyn stood back as Bubbley used bubblebeam one more time and dusclops fled. Then she turned her attention to the two boys. "What a day I've had! First wailord, then Bubbley, then wailord under the boat, and now this! Were lucky that a dusknoir didn't come out too. Oh darn, it just hit me, I should've caught one of them. Oh well what is done is done. So what brings you two to this dreary city, or more like rubble heap?" Carolyn returned Bubbley, for he wasn't mobile on land as she waited for an answer.

"Sparky, are you ready?" shouted Ryan. "Chin Chin!" replied Sparky. Suddenly there was a rustle from behind him and a boy rushed up. Another Duskull lept out but the boy repelled it with a blizzard from his Snorunt. "Sparky! Water pulse!" Sparky unleashed a blast of water. "Now Pokeball! Go!" The ball flew at Duskull and began to shudder. It rolled once, twice, a third time, then clicked. Ryan picked up the Pokeball. "Yes!" Ryan cried. Suddenly a girl rushed up and was imediantly assulted by a much bigger Dusclops but a stream of Bubbles repelled it. She turned to look at the boys. "What a day I've had! First wailord, then Bubbley, then wailord under the boat, and now this! We're lucky that a dusknoir didn't come out too. Oh darn, it just hit me, I should've caught one of them. Oh well what is done is done. So what brings you two to this dreary city, or more like rubble heap?" Ryan shrugged. "I was caught up in a fishing boat." he muttered. The others smirked.

Morning had come to Slateport, and Thomas had gotten a good night's rest. Walking outside, Thomas stretched, then moved back into the city. After an uneventful pass through the city, Thomas exited into a grassy area. 'Man if this is all there is to this adventuring thing, then I should have stayed home...I wish something would happen' ,he thought to himself. As if on cue, a pair of black dog pokemon wandered out of the trees. 'Hm, those are...Houndour, I believe? This'll be interesting.' ,Thomas thought, and pulled out Horsea's pokeball. Looking at the 2 Houndour, he noticed that one was about 2 feet taller than the other, and reminded Thomas of a hyena, as it was laughing at the smaller Houndour. 'The bigger one is probably gonna be the bigger threat, so let's try to take it out first...' ,and Thomas threw Horsea's ball into the air.

Horsea materialized in a red flash, and Thomas called for a smokescreen. Horsea shot out black smoke and completely surrounded the Houndour. "Hmm, this is looking to be too easy..." ,Thomas said with a smirk. The Houndour, proved to be tougher than originally thought as two bursts of red fire shot out and narrowly missed Thomas, but scored a direct, yet ineffective hit on Horsea. "HORSEA!!" ,Horsea apparently didn't like to be burned, and shot out bubbles in a wide arc. The larger Houndour stood in front of the smaller pokemon and took the whole attack, laughing even though it clearly was painful. 'Hmm, looks like its protecting its' friend...I think I may want this one...' ,Thomas thought, and pulled a pokeball from his pocket.

In the midst of the bubble assault, the smaller Houndour freaked, and ran off. Horsea smirked and bubbled the crap out of Houndour again. But this time it was different, the Houndour not only took the attack, but it jumped at Horsea and delivered a close range ember attack. This not only surprised Horsea(and Thomas) but fainted it as well. Thomas was at first angered but then recalled Horsea and watched the Houndour. The bubble had taken its toll, and the Houndour fell on its side, and decided to bark at Thomas as he approached, ever so calmly with a pokeball in hand. "Your mine, pokeball...go" ,Thomas said, and he dropped the ball onto the dogs head, catching it.

Kai laughed. "Fishing boats, the bane of existence." He knelt down to make sure Mazy was okay, and then got back up. "I'm Kai, by the way. I just got here from mosdeep. Are you guys newbie trainers too?" He noticed that the other boy had a chinchou with him. "Wow, nice pokemon. Those are pretty rare, except around sootopolis. Is that where you're from?"

"You were caught up in a fishing boat?! No way!" Carolyn hefted Eclipse up onto her shoulder and listened as the other trainer introduced himself as Kai and asked a few questions. "Yup, I'm a new trainer too. I just caught Bubbley, the wailmer that fought dusclops. I was heading to the mainland on a boat, or i would have, if it hadn't been flipped by a wailord. Luckily Bubbley was there and he saved me and carried me all the way here from Dewford. It only took a few hours; he is surprisingly fast despite his... obesity." Eclipse growled in agreement at the statement and then turned to the trainer with the chinchu. "Sableye!" He slashed out with his claws and it was a direct hit, making the chinchu fall back. Then he turned toward Kai's snowrunt. "Hey, stop that!" Caroolyn held back Eclipse with both her hands. "You try to fight a wailord, then a wailmer, and then these nice boys' innocent pokemon? Back in the pokeball for you, battel addict. Sorry about that. I think Eclipse has mental issues," Carolyn joked, "anyway, like I said I'm very sorry." Carolyn gave them the 'cute stare' and hoped that they would not be mad.

Ryan smiled at the people in front of him. The boy knelt down and picked up his Snorunt. "I'm Kai, by the way. I just got here from mosdeep. Are you guys newbie trainers too?"
"I'm Ryan, and yeah, an inspiring trainer..." The girl helfted her Sableye upon her shoulder and told her interesting story. Ryan couldn't help but giggle when a wailord flipped her boat. Suddenly her Sableye lashed out at Sparky. "Chiiiiin!!!" Sparky cried in dismay. Ryan ran to her side. "Hey, stop that!" yelled the girl and she returned the Sableye into it's pokeball. "I'm very sorry." she said meekly and gave a cute stare at the boys. Ryan couldn't help but blush. Ryan turned his stare at a mist shrouded mountain. "Is that Mt. Pyre?" asked Ryan. He had heard about it before. The disaster. His father in fact, lost. Ryan sighed and sat on the ground.

Kai looked in the same direction. "Yeah, I guess so. That's where the whole thing began, from what I heard." Kai stared up at the mountain, which despite the near-apocalypse, looked mostly the same as the photos he had seen of it before the disaster. He wondered if any Pokemon might be up there.
Then he looked back towards the town. The work crews were still hard at work, and a few survivors had been found. Kai noticed some trainers had wandered out to look for pokemon. Maybe he would, too. "So," he said. "What are you two going to do from here on out? I was thinking I might explore the region some more, see what's left."

OOC: Cobja619, this isn't really a big deal, but could you please not use parts of other pepoles posts in your own?

Also, I meant to mention this yesterday but I forgot. Yamagi Sosuke VMed me, and said he's too busy to do the RP after all. Just thought I should mention.

Picking up the pokeball, Thomas couldn't help but smile at his new catch, but then frowned at the thought that both of his pokemon were fainted...'I should find a pokemon center or something...With that, Thomas set off at a light jog northward. As Thomas was running he noted that the area outside of Slateport wasn't too bad, 'Hm, I guess those souls went for civilized areas only, I guess it's safe to say most of the souls will be found in towns and the like...' ,Thomas took a sigh of relief, he didn't want to much contact with the souls...

After just over 20 minutes more of running, Thomas saw a house, and ran over to it. There was a sign in front of it that read "Trick Master House". "Hm, this place will do for a rest...". Thomas walked inside and noticed how rundown the pace was, 'Well it has been 17 years since this place was last used most likely', he figured. Spotting some dusty blankets and pillows, Thomas called out his two pokemon and let them lie down and rest for a while.(Hey, it works in the games, right? so why shouldn't it work now?)

"Hm, I think I'll get a bit of shut eye too..." ,Thomas stated, watching his two pokemon. He went over and sat against a wall and closed his eyes.

Ryan thought about what Kai had said. "I guess I'll go exploring to... Hey we could go together!" Ryan exclaimed. Suddenly footsteps came towards them. The trio span round to see three trainers running towards them. "Don't worry! We're here to help y..." one yelled. "Wait... You're not in need of help..."
"No," said Ryan. "We're out looking for survivors to."
A girl wearing a red jacket threw a Pokeball into the air. "Then a triple battle wouldn't hurt then?"
"Not at all!" yelled Ryan. "Go! Duskull!"

OOC: *team Galactic battle music begins!*

Kai grinned. "Mazy, what do you think?" Mazy seemed to like the idea of a triple battle. "Okay then, let's do this!" Kai said. "Go, mazy!" He watched as the three opposing trainers chose their pokemon; a growlithe, a larion, and an elkid. "Hmm...this could be tough." Kai told Mazy. "Be on your guard." They waited for Carolyn to select her pokemon.

Three trainers ran in and asked for a triple battle. Carolyn waited as the opposing team chose their pokemon. A growlithe, a larion, and an elekid. Despite the elekid, the foes were weak to water, and Carolyn had just the pokemon for them. "All right, lets fight! Go Bubbley!" "Wailmer-mer." Thus the battle begun and Carolyn started off with a move to take down growlithe. "Bubbley, hit growlithe with bubblebeam!" The shot was powerful and knocked back growlithe, but it didn't faint. Carolyn stood back and waited for the others to make their moves.

"Lets go Duskull! Use Night Shade!" yelled Ryan. "Skull..." murmered Duskull. A shadow emated from his body and grew big. The opposing Pokemon shivered. Then Duskull swept foward knocking Growlithe backwards. "Growl..." whispered the Growlithe and it fell to the ground. Ryan gave Carolyn a hi-five. "Lets go Kai!" yelled the two in unsion. "You can do it!"

Kai nodded. "Okay, Mazy, let's get elkid! Icy wind!" Mazy blew frigid wind at elkid, knocking it back for only a moment. Then elkid charged mazy with a thunderpunch. "Dodge it, Mazy!" But it was too late, mazy took the hit. Elkid's trainer cheered.
"That's the way, shocker! Keep it up!" Elkid turned and began charging mazy, still dazed, with another attack. Kai began forming a plan. "Mazy, jump on elkid and bite!" Mazy looked confused for only a second, and then seemed to understand. As Elkid thrust out, Mazy leaped, onto elkids shoulder, boucing off and biting the back of its head. Elkid wobbled for a minute, but still stood. And then Larion attacked from behind. "Mazy!"
But it seemed mazy had a plan of her own, for after being knocked into the air by the attack, she landed on larions back and delivered a huge blast of icy wind. "Yeah! Great job, mazy!"

The pokemon around them fought well, but Carolyn had a plan. Even if Bubbley was a water type, elekid wouldn't stand a chance. Making sure that Mazy was out of the way, Carolyn yelled the command. "Lets show em' what we can do, jump on top of elekid." Using his flippers to propell himself, Bubbley landed with a big thump on elekid. "Now, attack with water pulse!" The water pulse combined with the weight of Bubbley was too much for elekid, but he hadn't fainted yet. Elekid struck back with a powerful thunder punch that just barely hit, although it was super effective, Bubbley was still barely able to withstand it. "Now, body slam, that should do it!" Bubbley's body slam was a direct hit on the weakened elekid, and the pokemon fainted. It's dissappointed trainer returned it. "All, right, that was simple enough. Next."

Thomas woke up around midnight, he could feel something wrong in the air...His Pokemon had noticed to and were on edge at the door. "Hey, is it just me, or..." ,Thomas started and was abruptly interrupted by a faint roar...it sounded inhuman.

Wandering in the moonlit night, red eyes glared from the water. Arriving on a path across the water, Thomas hears a splash, turning around, and sees a skeletal figure encased in a dark purple aura. Its' red eyes intensify the fright of the night. Calling upon Houndour, a match begins. The figure roars and a mist appears. A clone appears, then another, and another, before long it is hard to tell which the original is. A flare emits from Houndours' mouth. The grass is burned, the clones fade away, and the mist dissipates.Houndour cackles wickedly; delighted, then charges at the figure, tackling it with a wicked ember. The skeleton roars for the last time then fades to dust...

OOC: Okay, I was reminded by SwiftSwim(again) to add a rule had meant to add a while ago. It involves movesets, and will be important, so please read it. ^^

IC: "Okay, mazy, are you okay to keep going?" Mazy nodded, determined. "Okay, let's go!" As the larion charged at mazy, she jumped over and behind it, ricocheting off the ground behind Larion, and launching at it with a headbutt. It hit, but did not do much more than wind it for a moment. "Now, hit with another icy wind!" Mazy blew more frigid air at larion, but it remained steadfast. "Okay, chester, take down!" Called larions trainer. It was a hit, and mazy was just barely standing afterwards. "C'mon, mazy...hang in there..." Mazy reared up, and launched herself at larion, mouth wide open, fangs glistening. *chomp* The ice fang attack got larion square in the face, and it staggered to a halt, dazed. "Now, finish it off! Headbutt!" Mazy launched herself at larion a final time, delivering the finishing blow. "Yeah! Great job, mazy!"

The three had one! The trainers hung their heads in shame and ran to the Pokemon Centre. "We make a great team." said Ryan to Kai and Carolyn and they nodded. "Well we should probably head to the Pokemon Centre too. Duskull! return!" Ryan held up a pokeball and Duskull was whisked inside with a flash of red.

Thomas plopped onto the ground, the fright of finding a damned soul, catching up with him, "Agh, that was crazy, good job taking it out, Houndour...", Thomas said to the dog. Suddenly, the previously unnerving feeling was reborn, although it was thicker, more...haunting. A low roar was beginning to be heard, the area that it could be heard coming from was in the direction Thomas had come. Slowly, Thomas sat up, watching. Houndour growled ever so slightly, glaring in the direction of the noise.

It seemed like it would take forever for the sound to come nearer, Thomas and Houndour bracing themselves for what could only be a mob of the damned. Sure enough around the corner came one, two, three, and at least a couple dozen more followed. Thomas soon noticed that nothing could be heard, save the roar of the mob and the water washing against the path; the pokemon native to the area, were nowhere to be found. 'Looks like they have more common sense then us three...', Thomas thought, glancing at Houndour and Horsea's pokeball. Thomas grabbed Horsea's ball and aimed it at the water, "Horsea, come out!", he said firmly. The small seahorse took one look at the mob of souls, and for an instant had a look of pure terror on its' small face. Looking at Thomas and Houndour, who were both staring down the mob, waiting for them, Horsea got courage, knowing that it wouldn't have to worry about going it alone.

The low roar emanating from the crowd of the damned rose to an intense howl and finally, they charged. "Ah crap, this probably wasn't the best idea...Horsea use your bubble in a wide arc! Houndour use smog!" ,Thomas knew this wasn't going to end well.
Horsea jumped out of the water and sprayed the bubbles at the frontline of charging souls, and kept them at bay while Houndour covered the area in a thick smog. 'Let's hope those eyes of theirs actually serve a purpose!' ,Thomas worried about the smog's effectiveness. Just about a minute had passed when the roar had begun again, and the purple had shown through the smog. The souls cleared out of the smog in a hurry, and had noticably less numbers, although only a few...

OOC: Cobja, there are no operating Pokemon centers, remember? I'll wait for you to edit it. ^^
