Home-schooling

I've heard that home school kids don't get as good education.

Not to insult you or anything Arcanine XD

I don't like homeschooling at all. Middle school and high school is 10% about the education and 90% about the social experience and learning to work well with others. I've known some people that were homeschooled that just freak out at everything in the real world because they were so sheltered...

Ugh, I would hate to be homeschooled...

That is how most home-schooled children I have encountered have dealt with things, also.

In my junior year of high school, a boy who was homeschooled went back to public school. He questioned everything--why are some students allowed to wear such and such...it was horrifying how bad he was picked on, but I admit, his lack of knowledge on how the real world outside of his house was quite annoying. No one likes being told their parents are stupid becaues they allow them to be out past 11:00 at night. heh.

I myself have never been homeschooled, but I think if you're allowed to see how the world works, and not live in a completely sheltered environment, you'd do just fine.

Screw the NEA

It's too bad I never could be homeschooled.
I support it tooth and nail though—WHEN IT'S GOOD 'N' UNDERREGULATED. Mandated testing, evaluations, and submittal to state and federal governments for approval are not an example of freedom that homeschoolers enjoy. Same goes for the nationwide push to expand compulsory school age to as low as 3 to as late as 21.

Washington DC wanted to initiate mandatory preschool back in 2001-a serious violation of family rights and constitutionally protected liberties-exactly off of the NEA's socialist engineering agenda.

<<" I've always wanted to be homeschooled~ but of course, I wouldn't do it if I had the chance.

No post-secondary options.

Are you sure it's because you're a straight A student that you get picked on? ._.

Mandatory testing, evaluations, and state approval goes for ANY kind of education. Preschool, high school, home-schooling, you name it. Why should home-schooling children be allowed what they want, while public and private schooled children get these "harsh restrictions?"I'm not for state-wide tests, but if you want to play that route, then you'd need to be against any school in America. Is that your stance, or is your stance "Washington sucks?" Because I can't differentiate between the two with you.

Mandatory pre-schooling is a totally different thang altogether. And what are these "family rights" when it comes to schooling? In America, until you are 16 years old, you are required education. Any "family" that is that ignorant and doesn't realize that probably shouldn't have had a child in the first place.

reality check

Time to trot these out:

Read paragraphs 9 through 11 on third link. And don't come back to me with Air America talking points or NEA propaganda.

I've been home-schooled for about 2 years now, i've been off school for about 4 years so it was kind of alot of weight of my shoulders to start getting taught again, im not a huge fan of it, I wish I could be at school, but I can't because of health issues, I guess thats why its not so good - when you want to be at school but have to be home-schooled, its different if you have a choice. I get annoyed when people say how much they want to be home-schooled, its not good, nice or fun at all. You have nobody to talk to apart from the tutor who just wants you to get on with the work, you can't mess around, you have to JUST do the work, yeah you can't get detention and the one on one teaching makes you learn more, but the whole thing feels somwhat like a punishment. Thats just how I feel..but..meh.

I blame a lot of the parents to. When their kid comes home and complains of being picked on (as all kids are at that age) the parents overeact and think that the public school is some cruddy place.

Horrible parents make me so mad ._.

Those links are complete and utter crap, meant to brainwash ultra-liberal 16-year-old girls like yourself. If you are unhappy with the way the U.S. school systems are, do something more about it then complaining on a pokemon website. And no one said this country was founded on a freaking school system. Just where do you and your "trustworthy" websites get that from? I could have sworn our country was founded for other reasons...

You are in dire need of this skill called "Critical thinking." Or, thinking without bias.

You also are in dire need of attention, it seems, by adding "omg don't call me this, that, this name, that name, etc." While there are some names I can think of that would fit you, none of those are it. Your arguments need some fine tuning...you ought to work on that.

I didn't click the links, cause I don't really care...

But I do know that you're taking this too seriously, as you do in every thread I see you in, and you might want to calm down.
