Have you ever hoped something would happen that they were hinting at for an episode or several episodes, but the thing you were hoping for never came to pass?
Like for instance I can think of at least three instances where I hoped something happen and I ended up being disappointed with the outcome.
1. Back in the original Saga I remember seeing an awful lot of Bulbasaur, and Charmeleon evolved into Charizard 5 episodes back so I was hoping maybe with the amount we are seeing from Bulbasaur he will evolve soon I mean he is one of Ash strongest pokemon. Then we get to Bulbasaur Mysterious Garden, I was for sure this would be the episode that we would get to see Ash get Ivysaur. First Bulbasaur beats the Rhyhorn and somebody commented Bulbasaur was quite strong, then it's Bulb stared to glow. So I was thinking OMG it's going to evolve! And Nurse Joy confirms it's close to evolving so I was even more excited. Then by the end of the episode it refused to evolve. I was thinking really! We have two pokemon through 51 episodes that have already refused to evolve I mean who's next! I was mad to say the least.
2. The next one involves Ash leaving Larvitar with it's mother. Yes I understand that the who point was too reunite Larvitar with it's mother. But I just liked the chemistry and bond they developed over a short amount of episodes. I was hoping that Larvitar and it's mom would reunite then at the end of the episode Tyranitar would tell Larvitar "If you really want to go with your friend then go for it, it's time to start your own journey". But that obviously didn't happen so it stayed with it's more. I was not exactly happy with that.
3. This one is recent, since it's in the Best Wishes Saga. There was a bit of a hint that Sunglasses Sandile wanted to do something different then remain at the hot springs but I thought eh nice pokemon of the day we will never see again. Then there was episode 12 were it attacked Pikachu and Ash and I thought this is more then a coincidence, I mean why would Sandile go out of it's way to do that. Then episode 20 by there again we meet up with Sandile. This time it has it's glasses stolen so we see a different more affectionate side to it. Ash helps the little Croc out to get it's glasses back, then it resumes the battle after it is all over. So I thought for sure this was going to be a capture of Sandile for sure. NO whats it do evolves into Krokorok and gets blasted off... I was peeved with this show of events. There is still hope for that one even if it is a slim chance.
