Horizon Zero Dawn Discussion

This is great! I don't want to see any gameplay of this game yet for fear of spoilers. So listening to this commentary as almost a podcast on my way to work is great. Fantastic work.

Got it and played it up until the Switch came out and then have kind of been playing BOTW more. I do plan to play more though, so far it is very fun. :3

Got it last week and I've slowly been getting into a rhythm with it. Thankfully the more I play it the more I like it, and it was definitely a slow burn since, in the first few days, I didn't think I'd end up liking the game all that much, which was a shame since I was pretty interested in it since its E3 debut 2 years ago.

But yeah, I'm liking it. Playing it on Very Hard since it doesn't change too much other than drop rates and damage given/taken. Personally I would have liked it to affect more or for there to be a modular difficulty, since even on Very Hard it isn't a particularly difficult game. I also find myself wishing it had more survival elements if only because it so beautifully illustrates this harsh world of dangerous machines and varying weather conditions (the latter of which can tend to be the most beautiful I've seen in a game, watching the world turn almost grayscale as clouds paint the sky but realizing that, from another angle, you can still see the vivid world in all its color is an absolutely breathtaking experience) that I would love to have to protect myself from the cold and hunger- but that's just me, I wouldn't deride the game for anything like that.

But yeah, it's a fun time, definitely a good filler while I wait for a means to play Breath of the Wild.
