6th Gen How about SR + MM?

    I have been thinking, if you save the game before hatching 5 eggs (Masuda Method + Shiny Charm) and you get no shiny pokemon, then you go on Soft Reseting and going for the hatch again, the odds would run the same way or it will break the chain of 1/400?

    (Haven't tried it yet, I'll try it after I hatch shiny eevee)
     
    I believe that the contents of an Egg are now decided upon creation of the egg and not the hatching of it. If the Egg hatches and it's not a shiny, then no amount of soft resetting will change that.

    Trading to another person may end up as the Egg being shiny in their game, but it won't be shiny in yours ever.
