5th Gen How are you going to play the 5th Gen Games?

now i feel completely stupid, but i never actually new what EV stands for.

Playing for fun! Anyone who EV trains for the MAIN campaign obviously takes Pokemon WAY too seriously.

I like EV training. I'll EV train after I finish the storyline so I can breed for natures and moves and make an awesome 5th gen team for Wifi. :D

EDIT: EV stands for Effort Values. Every Pokemon you defeat adds to a certain stat. Pidgey adds to 1 EV to Speed, Luxray adds 3 EVs to Attack.

You can have 512 EVs, and a max of 255 in any stat. So you can pretty much max two stats if you want to by training on only a certain kind of Pokemon.

That's why rare candy doesn't make them stronger -- because they don't gain EVs, just levels.

They gain the stats upon level up, so you can't EV train a level 100 Poke, but you can EV train a level 99 poke whos EVs you've lowered with EV reducing berries.

I always play for fun. ^.^ I might give EV training a try after I beat B/W and all that's to it, but that won't be for a while anyway.

I never EV either.
I'm going to play for fun, relax and enjoy the sights of the new region.

The only thing I'm going to care about during my run through is Natures for me Team. After I enjoyed the region and everything, maybe then I'll settle down to EV train and such and finally learn the concept of IVs.

FUN! How do people even? I don't have hours of my life to waste.

But EV training is fun. D:

Nah, well first I'll play through the game doing my best not to start hating on my Pokémon if their natures are bad. Then, when I'm after running out of things to do, I'll resort to EV training and IV breeding whatever I can. Yay.

Fun. I don't have WiFi anyway. :cer_boogie:

I don't ev train until I've completed the main story. I prefer to play through the game without worrying about natures, ev's and iv's when I first get it.

The only thing that I'm going to have in mind are going to be the Natures. I'm going to enjoy the new region with the new Pokémon as much as possible and have a blast through the storyline. After I have completed the game, I will start EV training, IV breeding and all that good stuff.

i'll just use zinc and all those good stat helpers in the game.

I really don't ever EV. If i need to battle against like, people i know in real life. I'll Just fckin hack my pokemon so i don't have to do all that much effort. I DON'T EVER HACK IN COMPETITIVE PLAY. Just to note :P, only with people i know in real life.

Back on Topic. I'm gonna play casually. Train a lil' bit. But not really like, EV the crap outta my pokémon, did that in Diamond.

But Imma be training some new Pokémon to 100. Trade 'em over to Diamond xD. And not tell my Friends I Have both games. They'll never see that coming :)

i play for fun. i dont ev, but i do care about the nature. thats why i dont play online much. well now that i know theres others like me, would you like to have a fair battle sometime?

Fun i NEVER EV train on my first playthrough. NEVEREVEREVER!
Ev is boring as... It just makes you own all pokemon trainers

i will play the game for fun

I'm planning on playing through the Japanese version first normally and having fun, but once I beat the game I will start EV training a 5th geberation team.

When I get and English version I'll just have fun and maybe only trade EV trained Pokemon over if I wnt to try competative.

I find EV training too boring so I guess I'll just play through for the fun :P
