I train my Pokemon slowly, not like others who just train one Pokemon, which is uaually the starter. Slaking? It is up to him to let him evolve it or not. I like Slaking anyway.
my strategy is to kick everybody's butt with a few select pokemon and once i've beaten the elite four, train pokemon to be on a team by giving them exp. share and letting them start out in battle (so they get 3/4 of the exp) and then i stop training them at level 50.
In Fr/Lg, your starter pokemon will learn a special move if you keep it at the top of the party and baby it; give it stat raising items, never let it faint, etc.
usually i catch a caterpie and train it to level 10 so it eveolves into butterfree and it learns confusion then i train all my pokemon equally and trade some pokemon with my cuz like he has lg i have fr and hi im new
