    Hello everyone,
I can't seem to find any tutorials on how to fully edit the intro. By fully edit I mean remove Oak completely (delete his script, and remove the animation of him sending out the Nidoran). Would this involve ASM? If so, how would I do it?

That would involve ASM to make a completely customized intro, a good one would require C. An example of this can be seen here: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/335128
That is how Touched created the Platinum Red intro.
Of course you could manually remove and add your own sprites, although it would look strangely familiar.

Ok, thanks! I will definitely take a look at that.
Edit: While looking at the thread, I saw someone said that you could change the palette for the background, oak, and the platform to black. However this would not get rid of the Nidoran animation, right? I think changing oak's pokemon to ????? and then replacing that sprite with all black would be an easier option, but then the pokeball would still show up. How could I get rid of the pokeball without using ASM?

Changing the palette will only change the colors, the images will remain. Your best option is simply removing the nidoran part as a whole. Things like this have been done, for example, diegoisawesome's patch that skips the boy/girl option. I doubt any ASM would be required for this, just hex editing. You need to find the location of the nidoran part, remove it, and be able to continue the intro to the next scene.

So I would also be able to remove oak's text with a hex editor? I did use that tool to remove the rival naming option.

The method is to put 79 FD 12 08 at 0x12F9E8 using a hex editor.change the first 4 values with 79 FD 12 08 and the pokeball animation will not show.
