How can I swap overworld sprites in RBY?

hello I'm trying to change the idle and walking overworld sprites of my character in RB to one of the female ones that has walking sprites. I tried searching around for a few days to find some kind of tutorial or resource that can show me how to replace overworld sprites in RBY. The most i've learned is that it will probably require hex editing which im willing to learn but i can't find any tutorials that seem to apply to gen 1.

Mainly I think I just need the hex values of Red's overworld sprites, the hex values of whichever female overworld sprite I end up using, and an understanding of "changing pointers" because the most ive seen is one 30 second video where someone tries to change Mew's sprite and it comes out jumbled and someone replied that it was because they didnt change the pointer. Also maybe an understanding of the structure of the hex data could help. If someone is willing to give me a quick write up of how this works that would be awesome but mainly I just want to find a hex tutorial specific to gen 1 and possibly a list of hex values that correspond to the different sprites in the game.

I'm new to this aspect of romhacking so my knowledge is very incomplete I may already misunderstand what little I have found about it but I just want to learn if anyone can help ty<3
