2nd Gen How can we get Celebi in GS VC?

So I see there is an event to get Celebi in Sun and Moon through buying Gold and Silver on Virtual Console, but is there even a way to get Celebi in Gold and Silver themselves? Does this event also give you one in those games and I'm not reading correctly? Because if I remember right you need an event to get Celebi in those games or else you'll never get her.

Sorry - yeah :( You won't be able to get it the VC versions - the event is only for the current generation. Although tbh Celebi is all about the future so it makes sense haha!
