i think the event has to be scheduled. since event items are really popular, u'll hear a lot of talk about them before they come out. as of now, im pretty sure no event items have been released in the US, but correct me if im wrong.

As paperfunk said, if there is an event, you'll know. Otherwise, the feature serves no purpose.

I don't think this has much of a point so it's better to have it closed.
