    Calculate how many ev's my pokemon has left to train.. because I don't want to do the 3 pointless ones, I've got a lvl 15 charmander modest stats are 19 atk 19 def 33 sp atk 22 sp def 38 speed, so far all trained in speed. If anyone knows how to check I would appreicate it, thanks.

    You'd have to keep track of it since the very start, there's no telling what EV points you've spent in what... at least to my knowledge.
    Sorry =[

    He's right. You should have kept track from the start. If you are confused then just start re training him in that same stat. Your pokemon would get the remaining evs this way if you have forgotten how much it already got.(I know that it is very time consuming but its better than leaving your pokemon half-Ev trained.)

    Yeah, if you haven't been keeping track of your EVs, you will need to start all over. Luckily, if you are playing Emerald or later, you can reset the EVs all the way to zero by using berries.

    Oh, but even then you will have to train it from the start, don't you?

    Ok, which berries do I use btw, and if I'm training a charmander on a starly and my charmander has a power anklet, how much starlys will I need to k0?

    Pomeg-Hp reduction
    Kelpsy-Attack reduction
    Qualot-Defense reduction
    Hondew-Sp.Attk reduction
    Grepa-Sp.def reduction
    Tamato-Speed reduction

    These berries reduce the evs by 10 if used once.

    So I used carbos so does that mean I have to do it all over again and the carbos is wasted?

    I am afraid that its true if you reduce the EVs by berries. Thus I insist on training them again in that particular stat so whatever EVs are remaining, will be taken by that pokemon. I recommend not using those berries.

    Wait so what are you saying I should do? :S
    Train them from the start! Train it as if it has got 0 EVs. Your pokemon will automatically get the remaining EVs this way. Don't worry for the excess EVs as a pokemon can take only 252 EVs at the most.

    But then won't I be wasting those 3 remaining evs if you get what I mean?

    No. You won't be wasting those other EVs as a pokemon can take only 252 EVs at the most. After it has taken 252 EVs it won't take any more. Have you understood?
