how do you make a good deck?

    I have every single card from the first gen of cards (before the johto cards) and I was wondering how exactly do you make a good deck? I dont want new cards.
     
    A good way to learn is to download the gameboy advance/color Emulator for your computer, then download the Pokemon TCG game ROM. This way you can see all the cards you own + learn to make great decks!
     
    I have alot of energy cards. and I already have the gb game (not the rom), just havent played it much haha. thanks. I'll probably get on that now.
     
    If you beat the dome challenge(?) You should have access to the deck building machines and learn all the decks that all the gym members use. They all have a specific strategy to win. Back when the first cards came out there wasn't much strategy involved so it shouldn't be hard.

    There was a lot of strategy involved... most people just didn't know how to best use some cards.

    TCG present has a more widely used internet that makes research much easier and strategy-leaking from the lairs where top players chat amongst themselves much more common. That said, with the older cards you can have a lot of fun with a Haymaker deck centered around Hitmonchan and Scyther, as well as with a Rain Dance deck centered around Blastoise, among several others.

    This is true, but relating to the op I was trying to help him out the easiest way possible..
