In most Pokemon games, you're forced along a fairly linear track with various contrived roadblocks stopping you from passing necessary routes or areas until you complete the required story beats. However, with the series slowly transitioning to open worlds, I'm curious how they'll handle exploration in Z-A considering it's supposedly only set in Lumiose City. My personal hypothesis is that you'll be blocked off from various areas due to the "revitalization project", they'll be steel beams in the way or workers digging a hole or whatever; and you'll be able to allocate the resources at your disposal to resolve one of a few roadblocks of your choice and move to other areas of the city where you'll then have to gather more resources to resolve more problems, with the ultimate goal of completely restoring the city. That would allow Z-A to still be an "open world" like GF wants, while ensuring you don't immediately have access to the whole world and get overwhelmed as a result. That's just my opinion though, how do you guys think exploration will work?
