3rd Gen How does Charmeleon evolve into Charizard? (FireRed)

I've heard that you need to play the game for at least 5 hours for Charmeleon to evolve into Charizard. Is this true? Or is there some other requirement?

Umm... no? XD The only thing that Charmeleon has to do to evolve into Charizard is reach Level 36. It will evolve regardless of the game's playtime.

O.O I can't believe you asked that. I thought it would be obvious. Even when I first started playing pokemon I never wondered about something like that. Charmeleon evolves at lv 36.

XD I don't think gameplay time accounts for anything, does it? But yeah. Your Charmeleon will evolve if you keep leveling it up.
