4th Gen How does Plat. to HG/SS Trading work?

I do not believe there is any evidence yet that you can trade via those 3 games. Most likely you will have to do an after quest like LG/FR or just trade over whenever you feel like it.
 
No its been confirmed you cannot trade it all.
 
How are they able to make it so one pokemon cannot be traded? Let me guess, it's all in the programing?
 
I'm thinking that's where the time machine comes in, think about it.

You can transfer pokemon from FL and LG to D, P, and PT at any point in FR/LG, meaning they must take place around the same time, and we all know that HG/SS takes place after FR/LG, so if you could just trade through the standard method, that would put HG/SS at about the same time as D/P/PT and FR/LG, which would throw an established chronology out of whack.

Although, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't -.-'
 
Yes its in the programming. I am guessing its being treated as new species of sorts...

No, because there is an in-game event that when you have that Pichu in Ilex Forest, then a notched-ear pichu will arive and be available for capture.
So it has to be tradible
 
Gizamimi is the pichuy from the forest not the shiny one.
 
So that would mean that trading between D/P/Pt and HG/SS will probably be like trading between R/S/E and FR/LG since they take place at the same time.

You are wrong there. DPPt takes place around the same time as Gold and Silver, but FireRed takes place several years earlier. And transferring has almost nothing to do with the time period, as you are not directly getting a pokemon from that person at the same "time", just transferring and treating it like a safari pokemon(with a 100% catch rate)
 
Im hoping the Platinum formes will be usable on HGSS.
 
Well the forms should be usable on HGSS, Giratina can hold the Griseous (SP?) Orb when traded ...but I'm not sure about Shaymin, can Shaymin actually hold the Glacidea Flower or can you only use it from the bag?

Glacidea flower is a Key Item. Also I was mainly concerned about Rotom formes.
 
theres evidence for trading between the games (pikachu-coloured pichu, jirachi event + arceus event)
i just think you'll need the national dex to trade between games
and maybe an event like in FR/LG but having to fix something at the power plant in kanto to get them working?

i dont think its in the programming its cuz dp wont reconise the pokemon when it trys to trade lyk in pokemon battle rev when you put in your sky form shaymin and it changes back to its old form

well in dp when trading shaymins new form or giritans it wouldnt reconise it because they hadnt invented them then but now in hs ss they know about them and lyk they will put them in the pokedex and plus 4 the gardicia flower maybe you can obtain it from a person in the game or in an event... i dunno?

As usual, one might have to get the National Dex before any trades to DPPt can be made. Sucks that the Notched-ear Pichu is untradable; probably because its Sprite isn't in any other games, so it'd look like a regular Pichu.

And about the Pokémon's Platinum Formes (what I think):
Perphaps the power plant will say something about having found some strange appliances that are useless, but used to change Rotom's formes. Giratina will have no trouble, as the Griseous Orb will be included in the games' programming (at least I hope) and perphaps, that white rock Oak mentions in DPPt in Rt. 224 (only with Oak's Letter in hand) will be included and someone nearby will give you another Gracidea, or something. ​
