how is baton passing strag used?

but i think vaporeon insteal of espeon will be a better choice, will it? cos IMO vapour have beter Hp and DEf and spdef.. it can do wish passing too..

In response to the topic title: Baton Pass passes the stat boosts of each Pokemon onto the next one. (And it's not necessarily only for sweeping, either.) In other words, if your Pokemon Swords Dances, its Attack gets raised by one level. Then, if you BP to another Pokemon, then that other Pokemon will have its Attack raised by one level. Hazers and pHazers (Roarers and Whirlwinders, namely) destroy that strategy by eliminating the changes in stats you worked so hard to get (such as, in the example, the boosted Attack).

That said, as long as you've got a fast Pokemon that can last a couple of hits (hence the need for EPs in the defenses and HP), you've got a potential BPer.

If Vaporeon is used as a BPer, by the way, it would pretty much be due to Acid Armor (in conjunction with the usual Sub/BP). Yep. That's Acid Armor's a Defense-only move, but that's what it primarily passes, if anything at all.

Easy. Get rid of the Hazers/pHazers before they get rid of you. Thus, learn to recognize what could possibly be used as a Hazer/pHazer and anticipate the opponent's moves.

Of course, if you've got a Spiker, that might make your job easier by making it difficult for the opponent to switch out. Of course, that is an emphasis on "might," and you'd better hope that your opponent doesn't have a Rapid Spinner either.

the team husk posted seems pretty standard now. met several teams with that set i think, but it's more unstable than you think. i for one didn't even need a hazer to beat that team. i just sent out CB tauros or something and it just rips through all the pokemon :P. ninjask doesn't have chance to sword dance up and as he baton passes to the next poke, the next poke gets a big hit if not OHKO so he doesn't have a chance to pass anything.

my philosophy in beating baton passing is just beat the stupid thing. :P keep using all my strongest physicals. even umbreon gets 2HKO by a strong physical attacker. smeargle doesn't have a chance to use spore cuz it get KO'd the turn it gets baton passed. personally i haven't met many baton passing teams that actually set up properly, but then again, i've never seen husk baton pass.

Easy way to get rid of pHazers... Taunt and trick.

Taunt with umby, meanlook, taunt again, pass to mime, encore and pass to smeargle w/ trick. or just trick off the bat...

Ninjask is an excellent Baton Passer! (and evil too XP). I used to pass on the stat changes to my Marrowak or Snorlax but I've stopped using the Baton Passing stratergy since people can easily counter it nowadays :(
