How long does it take a thread to be reviewed before the mods allow it to appear?

...damn that was fast o.O!

One thing though, I accidently made a thread in the wrong forum. How do I tell the mods not to post it?

The mods will realize that the thread doesn't belong, and simply won't post it. They know what goes to their specific sections.
 
You typically don't get an infraction for something that minor, and you're pretty new at that.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. Just gotta learn from your mistakes.
