How long does it usually take to hatch a Shiny from an egg? By that, I mean how many hours, days, weeks, ect. did it take you to hatch a Shiny if you're using the same Day Care combination over and over again?

I'm trying to hatch a Shiny myself.

save every so often and then keep soft resting until it the egg hatches to be a shiny, it can take some time, maybe 1hr and 30mins

I believe hatching a shiny is the same as trying to run into one, you have a 1 in 8192 chance of getting one, so prepare yourself.

As the dude said above 1 in 8192 everywhere (wild encounters, eggs, game corner etc etc)

    i got a shiny

I got a shiny I had to soft reset 4096 times I think I noted it down but now i can't remember where it is now i got a shiny dialga

    Let's put it this way...

I've been breeding since the Metal Versions. Each game has had over 150 hours put into it, most of which was breeding and EV training.... I have probably hatched over 10,000 eggs in my life time.

To this day, I have never encountered/hatched a shiny.

And also based on luck XD, back when I used to play Crystal I hatched a shiny Pichu on the 1st egg from trying to complete the Dex

So if you're planning on hatching a shiny, prepare for weeks of boredom. It's really really hard to solely expect for a shiny, you meet most of them while doing other task as a surprise.

So you save game and reset just before egg hatches and it changes if it's shiny or not? :\

Oh how I wish and many others wish it was that easy... when you collect the egg from the daycare, it's going to be what it hatches no matter how many times you soft reset, the egg has all of it's IVs, Gender, Nature, ect. determined as soon as you get it. Now you could always save in front of the old man before getting it and see if there are any differences... but it takes a long time either way... I suggest 3 Eggs 3 Slugma/Magma Armor Flamebody Pokemon to cut down hatching time.

So magma armor/flamebody does stack. It's better then nothing.

The reason I have this thread is because I'm trying to hatch this:

Yes, I finally got my Manaphy form Ranger and I saved before going to the green guy in the mart. Every time I soft-reset and hatch Manaphy again, it's different. I'm wondering how long does it usually take (in hours, days, ect.) to get the Manaphy from the Egg as a Shiny.

well it's only 1 to 1 egg, so you'd need 3 to 3 which is the maximum you can carry.

I always use my shiny Ditto while breeding, does that lower the chances at all? What if the other Pokemon if a shiny too?

In my history of Pokemon, I have caught 2 Pokemon that were shiny, and both were in random encounters.

The first was a Shiny Voltorb in FireRed, near the Power Plant in the grass. Caught with an Ultra Ball.

The second was a Bidoof in the grass on Route 201. I used the Poke Radar, then walked into ONE PATCH (no chain active) and there it was! Caught with a Poke Ball.

There's a 1/8192 chance of getting a shiny. Now, think about hatching that Manaphy egg 8192 times. That's how long it'll take.

Of course, just because you hatch it 8192 times doesn't mean you'll actually get it by then. Statistically, you should, but it could take well over 10000 tries to get one.

Wrong. 1 Flame Body/ Magma Armor cuts the steps of ALL the eggs in your party in half. And I'm pretty sure they don't stack.

That doesn't affect it at all. No matter what the parents are, it's still the same 1/8192 chance of getting a shiny.

Actually, I just typed that wrong, yes it does stack, but if you have 1 in your party and 1 egg it cuts in half, 2 eggs and 1 magma armor/flame body and it's 1/4th the normal steps, if you have 2 of both, both eggs are halved. Not just a coincidence two of the same Pokemon hatched at nearly the same exact time with a Magmar and Slugma in my party.

We never know, it may be the first egg you hatch, or it may be 100000th egg you hatch. The only thing we know is that the odds are 1 in 8192.
