    If someone asks me "how many pokemon are there now?" what am i supposed to answer with?

    I'd go with the third option and include all mega-evos, haha. Mega-evolved Pokémon are completely different compared to their original forms, which makes me feel that they should be counted separately.
     
    Agreed. Not enough! Just blend pokereality and our reality already nintendo!!!!!

    Nah, jk. I'd go with 721. While the event Pokemon aren't released, we all know they exist and know that they will be officially part of the Pokemon world someday. Mega Evos aren't really whole new Pokemon to me; they're more like alternate forms, like Black/White Kyurem, and so don't count as a seperate species.
