Well i think seven regions are really enough for pokemon how much more will they add
And also tell me what u would like to see in ash's sun and moon team
Well pikachu and toucanon (if they follow the trend till now) are there
And we don't know if we will get incineroar or decidueye
The number a region I think is fine. They could still make countless region. The world is a big place and 7 regions isn't that much compared to other games. I could easily see 3 more based on USA. South, Midwest, and Alaska.
We still don't have a British based region and I am not sure why they would do France and not United Kingdom. They could make one for the Netherlands, Brazil, and islands around Singapore and Australia. So I don't see them stopping at the the number of regions when there are so many more areas they could explore.
I don't see Ash catching the regional bird this time around. He has Rowlet which is already a flying type and they probably don't won't to overload on flying type pokemon this gen after half his team was flying last gen. Not to mention they broke a lot of trends and patterns in Kalos. I think both Litten and Rowlet will fully evolve, although Rowlet may not. I think Rockruff will evolve although it may be a third form from Pokemon Stars, if the third form turns out to be real like a thumbnail placeholder seems to hint at. Passimian and Crabrawler would be great members and he usually catches a fighting type in most cases. I don't think he will catch both though. And I am hoping he catches Mudbray and evolves into Mudsdale. Drampa may also be a nice member. Given the anime style, I think Drampa would be amazing for Ash and it would be a nice companion to Kiawe's Turtanator.
That being said, I think this may be his team.

Passimian or Crabrawler.
With it currently reminding me of Sinnoh, I think he will catch 6 or 7 pokemon instead of just 5. We also have a possible 20 new pokemon or forms coming with Pokemon Stars if it is real. So this may not be his team. I am also hoping he catches at least 1 Alolan form.
