3rd Gen How many tries did it take you to beat Brawly?

I had Tailow, Ralts, Abra, Wingull and Combusken. Yo, I rocked Brawley so hard. =D

I didn't used Combusken, though. It was too strong to begin with; so I leveled up my Tailow, Ralts, Abra, and Wingull for the coming storm...

I think only about one. My first time through the game, I had an overpowered Combusken. It was extremely overleveled. Haha.

Second time through, it was pretty easy as well. Combusken + Tailow + Ralts or Kirlia or something = win.

The first time I played I'm pretty sure it took one or two times. I had a Combusken and a Taillow so I had an advantage to an extent.

I beat Brawley in 1 try on my Emerald. He was pretty easy for me. Liza and Tate were the worst for me. All you need is a powerful Electric type or a Fire Type with a grass or Fighting move and he is toast.:)EDIT: Wait Brawley is the Fighting one right? You will need Psychic type Pokemon. I think he has a water type with fighting so bring electic Psychic Pokemon. Not what I described originally.:)

One.

Taillow used Wing Attack.
Sableye used Nightshade.

Mud-Slap from Mudkip/Marshtomp can work, too, LOL.

One, in all games.

In Ruby:
COMBUSKEN used Peck!
In Emerald:
MARSHTOMP used Mud Shot!
In Sapphire:
WINGULL used Wing Attack!

Sableye works wonder once it's in the 20's

Yeah steel types are hard to use in that battle Surskit did decent with the help of Sableye

Ralts are sssooooo rare well not as rare as surskit but it is a good help

One. Usually I had my flying pokemon pwn the crap out of him. c:

The first Pokémon I ever caught in Hoenn was a Taillow, so I'm pretty sure it just took me one try. Treecko helped out too. There are much more difficult Gym Leaders in Hoenn than Brawly.

I had a Combusken agains him in 1st Sapphire Run . Of course (lol ^^) because of stupidness (another lol _-_-_-) I kept using Double Kick because I thought it PWNd . Of course it wasn't that hard , but it took me two tries lol :) .

Of course on other runs I beat him "straight away" so just kicked his butt once ...
