Just wondering if there is any limit to how long an attack animation can be and if we can add animated background as well?

I wanted to add an animation where the background would kind of glow while the ice/fire shards go across the screen, is this possible?

    Thanks

In Essentials Animation Editor, you have a 1000 frame limit. I might be wrong, but I think you can't add an premade background animation, but you can set it up and animate it in the editor.

OKay 1000 frams is more than enough! So I can't insert a premade background into essentials? I create two backgrounds, one inverted and one normal and I kind of wanted them to switch back and forth per frame while the ice/fire particles move across the screen?

What I meant was that you can't insert a gif. You need to make the animated background in the editor.

Ahh, okay man, for some reason when i set the background it doesnt show up when I select animations, is there a specific setting I need to use for X and Y coordinates?

I have set it in all the frames but it dissapears to quickly. i am assuming I need to edit the duration between frames? Also what resolution must the background/foreground be to fit the battle screen? Also if i upgrade my essentials to use gen5/gen6 sprites and battler would I need to redo all the animations?

    Thanks guys.

Yes, you might need to edit the duration between frames. If you didn't change the Essentials default resolution, the background should be 512x384. If you want to upgrade your essentials, it will depend about your upgrade.
