How old is Ash? [and Pikachu?]

We all know that Pokemon trainers start at age 10. And the Pokemon series debuted on April 1, 1997 in Japan. And let's count the number of episodes aired which consists of some 2-3 days each. Not mentioning the time when he traveled from one place to another.

So, technically speaking, how old is Ash and his Pikachu? Is he still 10 years old? Is he already 11? Is he already a teen? Or is he going 21?

Who knows? Maybe in 1 year will consist 1 month in Pokemon world.

Continuity does not matter in a TV show :) if ash was to age then it would change the target audience... it is harder for kids to identify with an older character.

He is still 10, has been since 1996
and will always be ten :)

Hehehe... I was just asking what, technically speaking, Ash and Pikachu's age is... Hearing that Ash will always be ten is pretty creepy, since Sammy became Prof. Oak, right?

Ash is ten. They said so on the Japanese Pokemon site.
I also believe that although years may have passed or whatever, the characters are stuck whatever age they were when they premiered. It's a floating timeline
