3rd Gen How to capture a legendary dog?

Arena Trap is more efficient than Mean Look, since it's an ability. My experience of the dogs in S/G/C is that they often take the first move and flee immediately. Since they know Roar (according to posters here) it's advisable that all of one's Dog-hunting party consists of Pokemon with Arena Trap.

Before I get the question shot at me, the Pokemon with it are Diglett, Dugtrio and Trapinch.
