I need to get too Route 224. I know I have to go into Victory Road, but I don't know where to go, is there a pathway I might be missing? Help would be very appreciated!

4th Gen How to get to Route 224?

I'm reading off of my guide so try to bear with me.
Go down from the end of Victory Road and Rock Climb down
Travel west then north until you encounter an old man
Turn left and take the stairs behind the old man
Follow the bridge and that should take you the rest of the way until you encounter a person that tags along with you.
Unfortunately, my guide doesn't take me any further beyond that point but you should be able to make it the rest of the way without a problem. And make sure you've obtained the National Dex.

Before Reading: Make sure you have Defog [HM05] and Rock Climb [HM08] to make it easier!
1. Fly to the Pokemon League - the part that is north of Victory Road.
2. Walk down south and walk into Victory Road.
3. Keep walking south until you find a Rocky wall. Use Rock Climb to get down.
4. Walk left, then up in a short path until you meet an old man. There should be some stairs nearby.
5. Walk up the stairs.
6. Follow the path from there.
7. When you get through you find another short pathway.
8. Go through another cave opening. You should find a young girl who will team up with you to get through the cave. She has a level 58 Arcanine.
9. Follow the path. Find the rest of the way through.
There's not really much in Route 224 except some pokemon and trainers. At the end, there's Shaymin's white rock. You can't access the Flower Elysium yet.
