EDIT: Oh, and before I forget, you couldn't have fixed it in Paint, because the background is still transparent, and there are no changes what so ever on that sprite that you said that you "fixed."

Tell me, can i do this sprites better? (Blastoise is recolored and trainer is both edited - not fused - and recolored...)
 
k, for all the rookie spriters out there here is a mini tutorial
Today, we will do a recolor. First go to *image removed*
there, u can get a sprite of a mudkip.(right click and click copy)
then, put it in paint.(right click and click paste) (Ms paint is easy to use so u should use it)
now on the same site, get a poochyena sprite
put it on paint
now for the tricky part... take the eye dropper tool and get the DARKEST shade of black on poocheyena's body.
then, put it on the darckest shade of blue on mudkip with the paint buckes tool
do the same with the medium colored black, and the brightest black and so on
then when you've finished it should look a bit like this:
