How to shiny hunt on Pokemon using emulators?

    So I'm trying to shiny hunt Giratina in Platinum. Before I encountered it I saved both my game and did a save state so I can load up faster. So I did a few test captures using the save state and realized that every single time the Giratina was the exact same nature (So essentially the same one). But I did a few captures manually resetting the rom and it was a different nature every time (So it's actually changing). So my question is how do I SR using the save states?
