How to use vitamins?

I have no idea where to put a thread like this...

Anyway.

I need to raise the Sp. Def of my Arcanine and I want to use a Zinc but it says it will have no effect. If I use some berries to lower the EVs of other stats, then can I use the zinc?

I really don't understand how to use vitamins @_@

Vitamins can't raise your pokemon's EVs past 100 points, so chances are, your Arcanine already has more than 100 Sp.Def EVs.

This is why it's most beneficial to just feed your pokemon ten vitamins for whatever two stats you want maximized before you start training it regularly. :P

why are you trying to cap an arcanine's sp.def anyways? Bulkiness was never this thing's strong point XD
