...the Pokemon sprites of Generation II over Generation V... Why? Because they have a certain smooth, simplistic, and traditional feeling about them. They just give you a warm fuzzy feeling. The soft colors feel good on your eyes.. Gen V's sprites are very detailed, yes, but the colors are a bit harsh to me, and they seem more like robots, than the creatures they are supposed to be.

    I know, I'm a weirdo.

Which Gen had the best sprites to you?

In terms of sprite animations, I personally feel that overall gen 5 has only really 'caught up' with Crystal's animations. They just seemed more interesting in Crystal than what one normally got in gen 3/4 which was mostly them jumping or being a bit squished as they made some weird movemeent. Crystal had Pidgey flap its wings, Rattata shake its behind, Geodude shake its fist... more entertaining and 'realistic', more amusing in cases and certainly more memorable for me.

Now it's better in some cases, worse in others for B/W - some like Scraggy I like (pants pulling XD) as well as some flying Pokemon, and others like Ludicolo's awkward hopping from one leg to another is pretty poor imho.

There's already a sprite discussion thread in Pokemon Gaming Central. You can discuss sprites there.
