Issue: I can't view certain threads with Hybrid.

Apparently a memory error appears for me when I try to open 3 threads with hybrid:
Daily Chat
The Count to Ifinity
Don't let the mods say anything.

I noticed in hybrid there is a little drop down menu at the top listing recent replies, so I'm guessing with the high amount of replies in all three of those threads, PC doesn't allow you to load them because they all can't be listed in the menu? Which is really the only logical theory I can think of. o_o;

I guess so. Oh well its just that I really like hybrid mode and its much easier for me to use.

PC wasn't really built for hybrid or threaded mode because of our Quick Reply. In some forums, you have to specifically select a post to reply to with QR or else it won't work and that way, every response is in reply to another and the topic is "threaded" properly. With PC, unless you specifically quote a post, etc., I think it just treats it as a reply to the OP's post... which will really mess up a list of all comment threads spawned from OP in really big topics.

...I think. Regardless of the exact explanation, I know hybrid and threaded won't work 100% properly with PC. :(

The only thing I can think of as a workaround is to simply switch to Linear display mode before viewing threads with more than say...2000 posts? You can easily do that by changing the view in another thread window/tab then clicking on the large thread, to read it, then go back to the other tab/window and change it back to Threaded/Hybrid mode.

Alternately, I believe that we could possibly have the admins try to code/look into an addon which switches automatically to Linear mode for threads with more than a set number of posts, to eliminate this error. it's definitely worth looking into. If that doesn't work, there's always a possibility of locking threads which reach a set number of posts, just to keep things working.
