4th Gen i don't get it

so is it possible to collect other pokemon in diamon other than the ones in the sinnoh pokedex? if so, how? i see people talking about pokemon from other games when referring to diamond and in my strategy guide it mentions other pokemon.. so where do i find them? do they unlock after recieving sinnoh pokedex completion? also another completely unrelated question.. how do i get riolu and what does the fire and leaf stones evolve?

After you get the National pokedex more pokemon will be available. You can also use PalPark to transfer pokemon from the old GBA games into Diamond.

Well, after seeing all 150 pokémon that the Sinnoh pokédex is programmed for, you will be able to get the National pokédex, which can record the other 300+ pokémon. At that point, other pokémon will become catchable. Some can be found in the wild, some will require you to have a GBA cartidge in the DS to encounter. You can also transfer pokémon from said cartridges through the Pal Park. And when you are able to go there, you will also receive the Pokédar to help find some more pokémon that was unavailable before. Basically, just worry about completing the pokédex for now.

As far as Riolu is concerned, you get an egg from a trainer you meet in Iron Island (sail to there from Canalave City). And the stones work on several pokémon, like Vulpix and Gloom, though I can't remember all off the top of my head. x_x

Dont forget when you are digging for stones you can also dig for Moon stones and Thunderstones as well
