I don't like Poke'mon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea

Let me clarify; her sending out Squirtle to get it while she's still on Akusha. I definitely remember Squirtle's pokedex entry saying something about being fast enough to overtake a Jet Ski or something.
No, its dex entry just states it can swim at high speeds. And, because this particular Pokémon was still a baby, there was nothing Haruka could do. Besides, to fit in Satoshi's whole 'King of the Sea' bullcrap, they had to take Haruka out of the picture first, which they did.

As for the movie itself, I liked it, if it weren't just because I liked Jackie. . Personally, I dislike Manaphy, so a movie based around one isn't my cup of tea.

... I never thought about it like that, but now you mention it... I guess, kinda. But then Misty was already like a mother figure to Togepi and giving her two baby Pokemon to be mother to would have been a little... I dunno.
It makes sense for May's character to be the one to become the mother figure to Manaphy.

Yeah, too bad that May didn't even bother to rescue her child in the ending...!

Actually, that reminds me, why is it that people react badly to Misty and Togepi's relationship, yet they seem to be quite content with May and Manaphy's relationship despite it being, oh, almost the exact same save for May not even trying to rescue Manaphy?!

I have seen discussion where Misty was being bashed because of her Togepi (And I encountered at least one person who even went as far as to say that Misty "stole" Togepi when it hatched). Yet in regards to May and Manaphy, despite it being very similar to Misty and Togepi's relationship [even down to her, to use this person's, named TrainersInsomnia, logic, "stealing" it from Jack Walker], they seemed to claim it's the best thing since Sliced Bread. I mean, if it's very similar to a relationship that they hated in the anime, shouldn't they hate it as well?

Can someone PLEASE bother to try and explain this discrepency?

Because Togepi does nothing except use a Deus Ex Machina move, get into trouble, and cry.
Manaphy has a greater purpose to it's life and wasn't sitting uselessly in someone's arms for 200 episodes.

Aside from it's title, I can name only two important things it actually did in the movie after hatching. First, it pretty much delayed the trip with Heart Swap to allow May onto the ship, and second, it stopped Captain Phantom with it's water Pokemon Army (Which is ultimately no different than what Togepi/Togetic basically did in it's final episode.).

And anyways, the whole Heart Swap issue WAS a pure Deus Ex Machina move. The only purpose it served was basically as an excuse to get May on the boat. Heck, it's sudden immunity to the soundscreen speakers and using the Heart swap in itself was Deus Ex Machina, and far more of one than Togepi's Metronome, if you ask me.

And it cried a lot during the first half of it's appearance.

Most of May's relationship with Manaphy was basically a rewrite of what Misty's relationship was with Togepi. Heck, they even had the same sunset final farewell and disappear forever ending.

Because May only had Manaphy for a movie. JUST ONE MOVIE.
Misty had the fricken Togepi for the whole horrible season of Johto. And one of the reasons Johto was so blah, was because Misty had nothing more to do, than to walk around holding that egg in her arms.

The movie with May and Manaphy was a sweet ending to May's time on the show. And it showed how much she grown and cared for Pokemon now.
They could have did the same thing with Misty, but they didn't. They ruined her last season on the show ..by making her have Togepi.

Look, I don't care If it was two hundred episodes or in a movie. All that matters is that if it's similar to something you guys didn't like, then you shouldn't like it.

Besides, Johto wasn't even that bad. I watched Johto myself, and I didn't even see it as being that bad. In fact, for a so called "terrible season", it was actually quite great. And Misty had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Misty needn't more things to do, because this show is about Ash and his adventures. I think making contest as important as gym battles was the worst thing what they could do. The same with May and Dawn. Making them as important as Ash was worst thing what they could do. This show should be only about Ash.

If the show was based around Ash then it would be boring. Really, the writers should've given bigger roles to Misty and Brock in Johto since that part of the original series was so lengthy.

It was a little bit of a bore but I think it was still a good film. It was more cute than epic.

Just a reminder to keep it on point. Rant about the movie, not the Johto seasons.

So, anyone liked Phantom, at all? You have to admire his ripping off the Team Aqua look, if nothing else.

Or, well, how about that plastic water? Facepalm.

I have absolutely no idea why such a fat man had super human strength like he did. He was cool in that aspect.

Yeah, I agree. The phantom was a pretty decent villain. I like a villain that likes to get his hands dirty, especially with superhuman strength.
