I don't understand the concept of Pikachu and the Gyms and the new Season

You're trying to make sense out of the Pokemon anime.

Excuse me while I go laugh. *Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha*

Ok, sorry, what were you saying?

This is the best post I have ever seen on a Pokemon forum.

I can't possibly disagree with you, because it's true. Nothing makes sense in Pokemon.

I agree with you Lycoris, I do think that the level of the pikachu is resetted in the series. This is not good as they will have to try again all the stages that they already past.

Everyone is complaining that Pikachu couldn't beat the 1st gym on the first try. I'm complaining because he beat an Onix with an electric attack on the second try! Don't give us that crap about how they use type advantages and such, the anime hardly follows it!

Ground>Electric

Not really. He's had Pokémon who aren't speed-oriented, but the speed issue may be because about 4 out of 6 of his Pokémon tend to be quite speedy. Yes, Pikachu included.

yeah but if u look at the base stats of some of his pokes (liek turtiwg) which is reall y low and hes liek... I HAVE to get my turtwig to be VERY fast or i'l get OHKO'ed when troterras are tanks adn screw speed since they can take hits and murder every one else...

...grammar alert

And base stats and metagame stuff means nothing in the anime, most small things are genrally very fast while big huge things seem to be slower.

:D

But at least they stopped using numerical levels. Because I'd hate for someone to say, 'It's over nine-THOUSAAAAAAAAAND!!!!'.

XD I would like that to happen in the anime.
Brock: Ash, I've been thinking: What level is your Pikachu currently?
Ash: Let me see.... Dexter?
Dexter: *beep* Your Pikachu is... level 4335.74
Ash: *head implodes from all the numbers*

:)

Pokemon actually taught me that water conducts electricity.

I didn't know what 'conduct' meant at the time.

Well in actually fact water without *any* impurities doesn't conduct electricity at all, but since its almost impossible for water to be free of any impurities that doesn't really matter. Its the impurities in water that allows it to conduct electricity, not the water itself.

I've seen people on this thread talk about levels not existing in the anime, but in the very first series, in Episode 9, The School Of Hard Knocks, many of the characters are refering to certain Pokemon leveling up at certain levels.

Can't you see? Pikachu gets uber lazy from riding on Ash's shoulder all the time. I means he's like attached on there! From all that lazy-ness he stay the same level!

Okay, seriously though. The anime is supposed to be about the tactics in the battles, not the levels. Thats how they can focus on a main character. One gym leader may be harder than others because they have harder tactics to follow. Overall, in the anime it's supposed to be an even match against any trainer, it's just the way you use your pokemon efficiently.

Yeah, because in the anime there is a lot of dodging and lots of random moves (like claps, wiggles, slides, jumps and in one episode breathing) that you dont have in the game.

weather levels are in the anime or not , the guy who posted this thread is right
pikachu is super strong , taking out brandons legendairy pokemon
but everytime they enter a new region , they lose their strengths.
pauls chimchar can handle onix , and pikachu couldnt while infact if pikachu used 1 iron tail , onix should be toast alrdy

so its pretty much that when they enter a new region , the pokemon ash keeps with him ( always just pikachu ) gets resetted to the strengths of his new caught pokemon , which is very weak.
the only thing that stays remain are the moves like volt tackle

why do they let pikachu hit ground types with electric attacks? Why? Why? It makes no seense when in some cases, this won't effect this, but then when pikachu comes, oh he can kill anything, except for baby pokemon like elekid. Bad story, bad battles, no logic, bad and way too many fillers which is why i stopped watching the anime, though i still follow it by reading summeries
