you dont have to hit the gyms as soon as you see them...train up and you should be ok...after all its not he pokemon that helps you win with the Gym leaders..its your levels..if your higher than them in level and they havnt got the type advantage you should be able to crush them even without a SE attack....
If you have troubles with Norman, you should get a fighting type pokemon. Blaziken or Breloom are good. Also, you can catch Makuhita and evolve it. But remember, your pokemon should have a high level.
Train! That's the most important thing. If your highest level Pokemon is only Lv 26, then you seriously need to get some training in. Also, I find that Special types work a lot better than Fighting types because of Slaking's massive Defense. It's Sp. Def is much lower, so a STABed Special Attack will probably do more than a STAB Fighting attack. ^_^
i beat norman i had forgotten that i got TM50 from Flannery!!!! I used Trapinch's dig to beat vigoroth and then used a combination of protect/wing attack by pelipper, catch my drift? (since slaking can only attack ever other turn! Good strategy huh?
Err... please don't double post, and what on earth has a Feebas got to do with you beating Norman? Since you have actually beaten Norman, I'll go ahead and close this seeing as the question's been answered. ^_^
